thought id better share my resto journey with all you guys so here it is
I picked up a 1 owner 77 LX which i got of a forum member. Its got a 173, 3 speed auto on the colum, bench seat and has never had a radio fitted.
As soon as i got it home it was in pieces and once id pull things apart i found alot of surprises... look theres rust over there....and over there.... and here....o wait theres more haha
The whole plenum chamber was rusted right out but the floor is still perfect for some reason. im guessing the old lady who owed the car actually had buckets set up under the dash to catch the water haha
This then required a whole new plenum chamber which i purchased off "ozbox" and recently had "gtr161s" install it for me. If it wasnt for these guys the car would still be a rusty shell so CHEERS
Next stage is off to the painters
I know how everyone likes LOTS of pics so heres a few (hopefully they work)

Im still getting the torri ready to go to the painters and come across a problem
Some time in its life the car has had a hit up its backside and was repaired with ALOT of bogg. The bootlid is still straight but it does not line up with the body. The body should be curved to follow the curve in the boot but who ever fixed the body has made it dead straight.
Does anyone know how i could go about making the boot and body line up OR should i just leave it???
Im not to fust about it but everytime my mate comes over he points it out as his is perfect ahaha

You might have some bog cracks to fix afterwards though.

A lump of 4" X 2" across the inside and a few nudges with a sledge hammer should do it.
You might have some bog cracks to fix afterwards though.
Thats worth a try, cheers mate
i was thinking about getting all the old bog out as it has a few cracks in it anyways

got some new pics of a few things ive done to my pride and joy. Im doing all i can do as i know bugger all about panel beating but it should be on its way soon to get beat'n up and painted.
Thought a touch of black paint will make those hubcaps stand out a bit more and im pretty happy with the outcome
Stole dads trailor wheels and made them look all spiffy. Putting these on the rear end and keeping the stockies up front
Fixed up my centre console and found a place for the tacho. Tacho will be moved as soon as i find the dollars for a floor shifter and that means bye bye bench seat and hello buckets
one of the sub boxes i made. got one on the other side also
I didnt want to run tiny 4inch speakers so i made a new kick panel and used the next cavity up which can fit 6's and they fit perfect
and today the dash got a well deserved paint

I picked up a set of bucket seats today and they are the exact same colour as my orginal interior so im cheering
The only problem with seats are one is missing the rails completely, one of the plastic covers off the side and the plastic wheel to make the seat recline.
If anyone has these parts im very interested in getting them off you

is that passenger seat for the backseat driver?
hahaha nah mate. I bolted one seat in to replace the plastic bucket i was using for a seat and the other dosent have any rails so its just floating around in the car.
Also forgot to mention that the rail im after is for the drivers side seat so if anyones got one name your price.
and GO PARRA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i got a few pics you guys might like
yesterday i bought a tin of jet black and started spraying the inside of the boot which turned out pretty good but the $10 compressor was letting me down alot ahaha
But i couldnt leave it all black and boring so i got a mate to come round who is also a forum member (unnamedfeeling) and asked if he could lay down some awesome airbrushing and the answer was YESSSSSSSS. He happily climbed into the boot and was hard at work. Couldnt be happier with the results
and if anyone needs someone to do some airbrush work give him a call cause he's looking for work
also have pics of other things he's painted
