It should be running and driving again after next weekend (the 48mm webers are ready to go on)Im sick of pushing it from shed to shed! The locked/welded diff makes it hell!

This car has changed my mind about flared gaurds on LC/LJ toranas.
Will be one of the best looking race cars on the track, the paint is almost to good for a track beast!

Windows are all in, rubbers etc aswell.
Still need to sort out rear suspension and which wheels we are going to run and find a decent set of semi slicks/slicks to throw on.
But we might get a few laps of the block in tonight.

Definitely suits the car
We were aiming to debut it at the 7th March MG car club of Newcastle Hill climb, but we cant get to their meeting this friday night to join, so looks like it will have to wait a month.

Well got some things done last night, was in a rush so didnt get any photos of half the stuff, but will be doing more over the weekend.
Last night I drilled and fitted the front indicators, we didnt have any decent bases so I modified some random ones we had in a box to fit, they work a charm! I think they are toyota, holes line up and everything.
All fitted-
Dash is just temporary until we can sort something better out.
and yes, there are backup oil pressure/water temp gauges. Looks like turd, but will do for now.
I started to prep the roll cage last night, Its all rubber and cleaned ready to get a slap of silver over the weekend.
Bonnet hinges, wiper motor, my ute grille, front and rear bars for the torana and a bunch of other bits will be getting a squirt of 2pack silver.
Also picking up a set of slicks from a friend that races in group Nc, and hopefully getting a wheel alignment in the next week.
I'll have heaps better photos on monday though, I was really rushed last night (got there at 5 and had to pick Karlie up at 7.15 then be at a friends to babysit at 7.30!)

but some more piccys-
Clearanced the ram tubes to stop them smacking the rail/inner gaurd in the engine bay, have some commodore seat rails to modify to fit the buckets,Door trims are in (just some spares we had)
Seats are all that is really missing for a test run now.

We threw most of the cage in, but then hit a bit of a wall, Ray and I are both sure that the cross brace is meant to go the other way (drivers to passengers) so He is checking with Bond roll bars and a few mates before we cut and weld the rear legs (baseplates)
Old man got some snazzy new door trims (full set)for his XU-1 for his birthday last month too-
and bought these/this off ebay to go on the 234 in his XU-1
Just on the look out for a set of 40s or 45s to hang off them.
The XU-1 is going to get a celica box and the webers aswell as a different diff (to spare the original)
Ray has finally decided to make it a bit nicer to drive and a bit more to his liking, rather then trying to keep it originalish.
Bout bloody time! haha.

There's not alot of room when they are fitted so I used studs/12 point nuts and a ground down ring spanner. Makes for a nice seal and very easy to fit/remove.

Good job Ray.

Only paid just over $150 for them too, which I thought was an absolute steal!
The bend on them looks good for the torana though, The long runner manifolds in the racecar (purple one) meant we had to cut the bottoms off the rear trumpets to clear the inner gaurd. which kind of defeats the point of trumpets, but it had to be done (for now anyway) until we can get around to sorting out some angled trumpets.
