Yeah, List of the winners would be good to see! And if they are forum members at all! That way we can all congratulate them!

We are sorting out the Club's trailer this Sunday, so I will be able to get hold of the trophy list and post the names, etc up here then..

With regards to the "who, what, where and when, of the trpohy winners, it is a valid point and I will be bringing that up in the debreif.

cheers
Mick

Im a bit delayed but yeah those two dickheads hanging around my car was a bit of a worry. They weren't with me, but thanks to the members of the HVTC that came over and sorted it out very sensibly, they were lucky not to have their heads knocked off by the two big fellas that got them to leave. At one stage they were going to put a bomb up with their footy, if that had happend and got a car I think they might have been more than sick and sorry the next day.

they wernt the young dickheads running around with a half empty "goon bag were they (silver wine bag)

Morons were getting very close to youngy_11's car at one stage, I wasnt sure if they were with him or what was going on.

As a Torana Fest virgin I was mighty impressed with the show on Sunday (and the whole weekend for that matter). The arrangement of the cars was well done, the length of the show was just right to see all the cars, study the ones that took my fancy and chat to a few people along the way. The opportunity to buy an entrants shirt was appreciated and having a few legends on hand to sign it was a bonus. Give yourself a big pat on the back HVTC for a job well done, well organised and a big enticement to come back next year.

There are a couple of areas that could be improved though.

Allocation of hotel rooms: When members of QTCC booked we asked and were advised that we could be given rooms in close proximity to one another. Unfortunately this didnt happen. I understand the logistics involved would be difficult however if the hotel knew that 10 parties from the same club had booked, surely they could arrange the allocation of the rooms accordingly. No major drama, however as it was mentioned among us I feel the feedback should be passed on.

Saturday Cruise: There was talk on Saturday morning of a cruise that was organised for the afternoon. When I followed this up I found out that this wasnt the case. No major drama though as I canvassed the hotel guests and arranged a short cruise into town and the beaches. We had about ten cars attend and it was a good time filler for the arvo. Not sure if this will be an issue next year as it looks to be a two day event.

I reckon if those are the only two improvements that I can come up then it shows the whole weekend was a huge success. The BBQ on Saturday night was great, the hotel staff and rooms were spot on and the actual Torana Fest was awesome.

I will certainly be encouraging members of QTCC to attend next year.

See you then !!

Cheers,

Tony

:badabing: Tiny,

Ooops didnt anybody tell you that we had porta loos over behind the registarion area, we got them in because of the problem you highlighted, sorry for not telling you!!

Would have been a good walk anyhow!

Garry The Fatman :nudie:

Once again mick and all the crew, A fantastic day!

The weather, The cars, The people, everything was fantastic!

The only gripe that Simmo had was the toilet facilities for the ladies were very dirty and smelly!
Maybe portaloos or a truck-ablution block would be the go next year!I Just dont think the council facilities are up to the volume of people that come out for this!

Cheers!

Thanks to the Guys from the XU-1 Owners Club who worded the drunk up, after he gave up his goon and had a quiet word with our nice big Club Member he shot through never to be seen again, Thanks to all who assisted.

Hmmm...

Security service/crowd control needed?

This sort of thing is what they could deal with as professionals.

I would hate to see an entrant knocked about by one of these sort of low lifes.

Baron,
No need to spend the extra money when we (Torana Owners) will all stick together when drunken clowns threaten our families and cars :shoot:

I agree, i think two three or even ten idiots wouldnt stand much chance against 246 torana owners who would stand up for their fellow owners cars

Its good to see my new freind Barry kept
his hands busy when the photos were taken
for the "Best display" trophy.

Now, had i won a trophy, for mabye the "Second most distance traveled" (1735KM)
I WOULD HAVE HAD MY HANDS ALL OVER THE TROPHY CHICKS.
but there would have been a ban on any photos hey Graeham,
Cause when you travel interstate the old saying goes "what happens at toranafest stays at toranafest"
hehehe
Cheer (see ya next year)

You dont need a trophy to sample the goodness Baz, all you have to do is ask :tongue4:

Or maybe it was my FBI (f*cking big idiot) hat that did it. Sure as hell wasnt my hansom mug.

Hi all

Yours truly was very pleased to be given the Encouragement Award for my Persian Sand 4dr Grandpa-spec 202 column auto LX. I would have spoken up earlier when the award was first mentioned in this thread but I have been away from the computer.

Anyway, the Encouragement award is a great idea because, although its no show stopper, I am proud of my car and this award proves that all of us have a chance, as long as you get in and have a go. Thanks very much, Tiny. Sorry to make it so hard - I'll leave the daggy grey seat cover off the driver's seat next year so that you can see what's under it which ought to make it easier! :spoton:

My sincerest thanks also go to the Hunter Valley Torana Club, the GMH-Torana forum and all the volunteers who put effort into making this a great event. Ill definitely be back again next year.

That quote epitomises the spirit of Toranafest :spoton:

Doesn't matter what model Torana you have, it is still your pride and joy :)

Hi Guys!

Garry, I Didnt realise mate!!
I actually didnt need them all day, but Simone did, and yeah we didnt reise they were there!! Idiot us!!
Thanks for acting of the recommendation of last year though, and i'm sure 2010 will be even better!

Zook: Mate I'm glad i picked a member's car! My thoughts while walking around looking at all the great cars was "Geez... How do i pick one!", and honestly there were hundreds i could have chosen!
I specifically chose a car that i thought WAS a rough diamond because as someone mentioned above, it really embodies the whole Torana appeal! Christ... it reminded ME of MY first car! Identical except mine was T Bar auto and Chamois interior! but honestly i had grand plans of her being in car shows and things like that, but i never did.. and well... you did! So congratulations!

It just goes to show that Show quality, or streeters are all welcome as part of the Torana community, that the forum likes to support! (Heck.. we are made from the community!!)

Cheers again everyone!
