yes you can buy it new from acl as well.
i tie the heat shield to the pipes with hose clamp's or cv boot clamp's and bend it around to miss the inlet manifold

now on that note, i remember reading some threads on the US GT40 forum when i was researching filters for my webbers.
I kid you not, a number of GT40 webber users were using tea strainers. They even recomended a particular brand !!

I had a set of those on my racecar once... seemed OK
