mate took his victorian FC police van down to the nationals so look forward to your pics from there.
I saw that van, very nicely restored and perfectly presented. Job well done.

I didn't spend a whole lot of time at the FE FC Nats though. Arrived about 6.00pm Saturday and went to the dinner and wiped out a some brain cells with a few mates - one of them 76 years old who has owned his FE since new and spent forty years as an RTA inspector. Old Mal has plenty of great stories and is easy to drink under the table

Went on their 'Super Cruise' on Sunday morning. "Cruise" being the operative word when a fair bit of it was up through Mt Canabolos and the grey powered cars were struggling at times.
The cruise ended at the local Rugby Park and I had a look at the cars for a couple of hours then travelled back to Sydney. The standard of cars has really risen in the past few years with some top notch modifieds - MR FC and a newly completed V6 powered car from Lithgow being standouts (below), and restored cars of the highest quality. The car from Lithgow was built by one of my mates up until paint/interior stage. Has a flat floor and wheel tubs - completed in his apartment block's underground garage. He has understanding neighbours!!

This is one of my mates cars. My brother did some paint work and I did the engine bay on this one. Nice looking car.

One of the best colour combinations on an FC

This is a great looking car - blown 202 and driven from S.A

The quality of this restored ute was outstanding.

Built from a very average wreck by the one guy - all work himself. He's an ambo by occupation and has just done a very good job on this car.

Yep, its an FC!!

I love the unrestored cars that pop up - like this one that was used in a concrete plant. How do they survive???

Seemed to be more vans, utes, and wagons than ever which was good to see however I didn't take too many photos but will post some on here when they appear on other forums.
Next FE FC Nats is in Perth area in 2012. Four of us are going to build an FC wagon and drive over, then leave it there and fly home. Mal will be 78 years old by then so he has agreed we should carry a big cardboard box in case something untoward happens!!!
Should be a great trip.
