Did ya get Access to the GMH Archives,there used to be Pam the GMH Libarian back in the day,when Norm Darwin did his Book,The History of Holden.
I hope one day GMH let loose the XU-1 V8 Pics&XW-7 Blueprints,they might have stowed away in the Secret Squirrel Archives,as Holden fans would love to see what they might have,i asked them on there Official Holden Facebook Site,who ever is running that for Holden replied they will look and Post on there Holden Facebook site if they find anything,i wait in anticipation to see if they find anything.
But great work on ya Book Terry

Hi Dr Terry
My name is Matt I have a Torana LX 3.3 SS. I am relatively new to the Torana forum I have started the process of getting my LX Torana hatch back on the road.
I brought the car new from Melville Holden WA in Dec 1976. it has been driven for approx 25 y and garaged covered for the past 20 years.
i was cleaning the rear axle area of the oil-grease and decided to change the oil of the diff. The Holden manual says the volume should be 1.4 l
but it had more like 2.4 l. the plate states rear axle G4V.
I found, behind one of the seats cover, the :"HOLDEN PRODUCTION BROADCAST" leaflet issued 01 10 76
some of the codes are the same as the codes in the compliance plates but it has many other codes.
I would like to buy your book as I have a lot of questions some have already being answered in other discussions . I read at the start of the thread that you can sell direct I know its a while ago but if you can send me one I will pay you bank transfer.
thanking you for your help

Matt
The PO codes on the broadcast sheet are just the component options of others optioned for the particular car.
You already know what L20 and M20 - these are both standard for an LX D77. I thought having GV4 was very unusual as this is a Stock Order car (the broadcast sheet says so), this is very unusual. I don't think I have ever seen a stock order car with an optional rear axle, by rights this should have GU4 (3.08). However, it appears 3.36 became the STD rear axle with XT4 engines (ADR27A pollution gear) so GV4 is actually the stock rear axle and 3.08 becomes the ECONOMY rear axle.
The rest are:
C49 = Heated rear window.
DY1 = SS stripe combo (Orange-Red)
QAV is the tyres - (3rd line tells you what they are)(standard for D77)
XS6 is the bucket seats (standard for D77)
XT4 is the ADR27A pollution equipment (standard)
WAX is exactly what is says - they put wax on stock order cars to protect the paint as they may sit around for months. Retail, Fleet and Dealer Order generally don't get wax as it takes time to remove it and they are generally going to be delivered straight away.
All in all, it looks like a dead stock LX SS with one option: C49.

Is there a triple zero 000 dealer code?

Is there a triple zero 000 dealer code?
No. That is just GMH's and an IBM360's way of stating that no data is entered into that field. Same way a 0 or two was added into the engine number field if the number was less than 6 digits. It wasn't entered as 000, you see it as the default like 00.00.00 for the date and 0000000 for the BETSBAC for fictitious cars, as in data entry error cars where a field has been created by mistakenly entering a wrong PSN and the cars never existed (records are full of them).

Ok cool.
When I had numbers looked up on my lc gtr llke most no recorded engine number but selling dealer code was 000 but had recorded sell date & little bit of other info.
