Don't cut right to the edge of the scoop unless you have a cold air box that will go that far also
edit: mine just has a round hole big enough for the air cleaner at present, I want to square it off one day and put an air box/tray on it

I was told that it must seal just in case you blow a radiator hose or something so it wont throw water over the windscreen.
My filter pokes through the hole, but i don't think its legal. I would think that you would need bracing around the hole.

That's interesting, I was actually only thinking about cold air delivery when I said it.As above , for it to be legal it must seal against the carby air cleaner.

I wouldn't have thought that bracing was necessary as long as you don't cut into the outer braces, which I think is roughly how the A9X holes were from factory. But... I wouldn't know anything about Aussie laws anyway so don't listen to me!

LOL! Yeah, that could be dangerous!!! I hate it when it rains! HAHA!
I just have a hole cut in mine. Nothing spesh... With the lip weld clipped onto it, to make it look neat.

I also made a 6mm x 20mm thick ring to brace the bonnet, dont have any photos of that though.
