So how did anyone go with the 285/40/15's ?? i am buying a set tomorrow they seem to be the best thing
that will fill the flares without too much or if any f*cking around.

Also whats the best tyre for the front that wont look out of place diameter wise? 225/50/15?

I have run with 285/40/15 on 10'rear and 255/45/15 on 9' front AVS on a flaired hatch and they are perfect (depending on you offset mind you).
I have not cut the flairs yet but they will need a little for normal road use.

That's what mine has, not too bad but it would be nice to go a little bigger. I only have 7" wide wheels on the front, hopefully one day I'll swap them for 8" with the same tyres, should fill out a bit better. The 225s are very easy to clear, just some minor flattening of the firewall lip.

I now have 2 lots of Yokies in the excellent but no longer available AVS pattern
285 40 ZR 15 and 255 45 ZR 15

These were bought unused but had been sitting too long and they are 'off'.

I also have Michelin TB 15 Race Rubber, (historic tread pattern) in 295 40 15 and 270 45 15.

Excellent rubber, too friggin expensive for the road, which was the point of my question above.

Hi. This is probably a long shot but I'm trying to get in touch with Tarmac Terror. He doesn't seem to be a member anymore. Can anyone help?
