I picked up an SLR cluster in very bad condition.

found the 4in1 gauges fryed. Came across these on ebay

with a bit of drawing, cutting and disecting it looks like the 52mm vdo gauges will fit in behind the face

I plan to use the lighting method the vdo 52mm gauges use. I am also using the rare spares replacement decal set, which i found light can go thru the decals

I am going to put this in a sl cluster. it will need i bit of cutting.

I'm sure someone was selling new facia stickers for the LX (Yellow) and LH (white) somewhere.
May have been Rare Spares!

DD1001 Yellow $46.20
DD1002 White $46.20
This is my cluster with the VDO speedo and tacho. I was also considering replacing the 4 in 1 gauges so the needles and lighting match.

Also it would be nice to have white or yellow needles instead of those horrible fluro orange ones, the rest of the facias are quite nice. I guess you can always disassemble and paint the needles...

I don't know how much truth there is in it, but I've heard that painting the needles can throw the mass off enough to make the guage inaccurate. Obviously if you could calculate it you could just file the end down a little to compensate while you're at it. But that's probably not realistically gonna be measurableAlso it would be nice to have white or yellow needles instead of those horrible fluro orange ones, the rest of the facias are quite nice. I guess you can always disassemble and paint the needles...

Those gauges look very nice but I want to stick to original unfortunately.
Still need pics of facia of SS gauges then let me know as I've should have a pulled apart one somewhere.
The voltage regulator behind the panel is what stuffs them as they are not reliable and when they fail, so do your gauges
