Hey Rod
I am also interested with these SCAT cranks CMP in Perth is doing a SCAT stroker kit for under $1300 at the moment.
I have never heard anything good or bad about them.

stick with scat,i,ve had some bad experiances with the quality of materials used with others. Then once the product was found faulty material, wouldn,t refund, exchanged broken parts only, with a pile of attitude.didn,t replace gasket kit or the whole drama of getting a complete engine rebuild using scat instead.the scat combination has been faultless, used in 2 of my engines,1 runs 11 to 1 comp the other runs on methonal.

craig.

I'm running a SCAT 4340 forged crank in the HQ and i'm VERY comfortable with it.

I've never heard bad things with SCAT gear, but i cant say the same for COME gear at times unfortunately!

Cant go too far wrong with SCAT!

Just make sure what you are buying is a proper 350ci stroker crank too (ie 3.48" stroke). I think Scat, COME, Harrop and of course the genuine HSV crank as well are all fine. There was one or two getting around that was a 352ci stroker crank, with 3.50" stroke, but I think it had LJ Chev rod journals. Would probably work OK with 5.7" rods and SBC 3.75" stroke pistons but not with Holden rods and HSV 350/5.7 pistons.

There was a 355 COME crank on ebay for 700, had no parts numbers on the box, just come cast on it, anyhow, I bid to 650, it went for 660, then next thing I get a second chance on it, the new owner didnt want it, said he it was a chev crank ? maybe it is was copy ?

I see SCAT 355 cranks on ebay for around the 750 and up , why would you go there when they are only 460 from Rocket new ?

The COME cranks can be ordered to suit Holden or SBC conrods. Chev journals are smaller dia. and wider than Holden.

On the link above Andrew, does it look like the packaging a COME would come in or ? The guy says it has no part numbers on the box, would this be correct ? Cheers mate.

i have a scat crank on the balancer now.it seems to be made of better quality material than my old come one but it has taken 2 1/2" sticks of mallory to get it balanced.its not that bad but didnt balance up as good as the come.

i'm also using scat I-beams in this motor.they are 5.7" long but with a holden journal

Had a very bad experience with COME quite a few years ago when I bought off them a rebuilt 427, it tore it self a part within a week, main bearings and rods had picked up. Went back to them, and they did not want to know about it. Bought new rods etc and had it balanced locally and they had to put about 8 slugs of mallory into the crank to get a balance. Turned out they threw a 396 crank in with a 4.250 bore to get 427, but the 396 cranks don't have the bigger counter weights to correct the balance. So from then never used them again, never will.
