Hi Dane, I find it interesting how the caliper dates are well in advance of our respective cars build dates .

I may stand corrected on this, but I believe that these calipers were made in the UK, meaning production lead times would me much longer than for Australian made items.

Girlock was brought about by the merging of Girling & Lockheed.

I know that the later (Commodore style) aluminium calipers were made here after they set up local production.

Datto ?

Dr Terry

 Thanks for that  Dr Terry,

You may well be correct - gells perfectly with the T226 TCX carbs with bodies that were cast in January 73 and these were factory fitted from approximately June 73 onwards .

Not quite sure what you mean however only the XU1 had the thicker discs and spacers in the calipers, talking strictly Torana.

The production lead times Dr Terry referred to would apply to manufacture of disc calipers for all LC/LJ Torana.

As in the bigger discs and caliper with the spacer were only fitted to the xu1s, not gtr or were they fitted to both?
