Can any one tell me why these two facia panels are different? What are they from? Did Holden have a change mid stream with there Switch facia panel?

Cheers.

I had always presumed Holden had simply changed their styling or supplier part way through the model range.

The first picture with the recessed switch holes is version one (76 - 77).

The second picture is version two (77 - 78). This version is more commonly referrred to the "A9X" one.

both were used in the SL and SS hatchback (and the Sunbird Automatics) throughout their life.

cheers
Mick

Thanks for that fellers,

I thought the second one was a painted SL hatch one to look like an SS, but was unsure as to it being an SS one, and when I saw your repo SS one Mick, I was totally lost as to which one was which.

The top one is from my SS (1976). Did you repo an SS one like the top one, Mick?

Col, I believe the sun budgies are different again, due to the shifter position, I think it is smaller.

Yeah Mark, that was my thought as well, then through my hands in the air, who the FiretrUCK knows :dontknow:

Cheers.

Paul

I didn't do/ haven't done the 1st version as I don't think that there is a strong enough market to support both versions. That is not to say that I won't though in the future as I have a very good one here to use as a sample.

As I said, the same switch facia (woodgrain) was used in the Sunbird Automatic only. It was deleted on the manual Sunbird as the gear stick was moved forward.

cheers
Mick

Now why did you have to go and put a photo up, man I want it :spoton:

How many do you have to get for a small order, there may be a few people after the series 1 type.
My opinion is they look better than the later one's, and I'd buy one if you had them.
Go on, start reproducing them, you know we want you to. :spoton:

Cheers
Paul.

You just never know, with the right amount of demand, I could be swayed into repro'ing these.

Maybe in about 6 - 12 months. I have other items on the board at the moment and I need to sell a few more of the version 2 switch fascias first..

cheers
Mick

Are you getting sick of holding onto the series 1 switch fascia yet Mick? Can I buy it off you now? :P

Cheers Paul.

HI Mick,

I, like Paul, would buy the early version 1 (76-77) as well!
I've been baulking at buying the version 2 for awhile now, hoping you will be reproducing version 1 switch fascia VERY SOON!!!!
Is "sometime" sooner or much later?

Come on guys, who else would want one, not every thing in an A9X (series 2 Fascia) is better, place your interest here, It may get Mick to start reproducing the stylish fascia. :P

Yeah, I'd want one - just need a console to go with it, oh, and a dash fascia...and a glovebox lid...and a lower fascia...and a steering wheel,,,and door trims, and... well you get what I am saying - Just add the switch fascia to the list really!
Cheers, TB

Hi Mick,

As above, put me down as a buyer for an early switch fascia as well.
