I must say, that bit was a bit annoying for him...

Not so much Shannons, more so Fowles... When the car was recovered, it went to Fowles. I believe it was then their responsibility to value it and let my mate know what the process was to get it back...

He had to constantly pest them to find out the Valuation (Which took longer than they said). When the got around to doing it... He again had to chase them up to find out how much it would cost him... They didnt go through any of the terms and never gave him anything in writing.

Finally he thought it'd be wise to try and get something in writing about how long he had to come up with the money.. They said 'you got till the end of the month' (Which was about 2 weeks from when he asked). So he had to quickly get the money together to buy the car back.

From what i can understand, Shannons was good to deal with, and thats how he had to chase everything up.. It was Fowles that didn't really give a shit and wanted to send the car to auction (Apparently lots of people were asking questions about it).

Jesus Christ, I'm glad to hear your mate got his car back. What an unreal story! I read this thread when you'd just started it and thought 'oh shit - poor bastard' but didn't realise he'd got it back. Sounds like he got stuffed around big time even after it was found, which would have been pretty stressful, but it's good that it worked out.

Thats just bloody unbelievable about the Ned Kelly sticker and the commodore spare! What a story!

Stolen from the Palais Theatre Car Park

Is this a car park with boom gates that you pay to get in?

I'm just wondering should those types of parking lot have some sort of responsibility/insurance for auto theft?

I realise they probably have signs saying they accept no responsibility.

Yeah, the car is living safe at his parents place now under a cover until he can afford to fix it all up again...

I dont think there is boom gates at that car park... You'd think that if you pay all that money for parking you should get some form of security! At least working cameras or something!
