Cool, I wanted to do that aswell, are u running a bcm so the odometer/trip etc. Work?? I want the big tacho, not interested in running another external gauge

Thats the pic out of my old ute, The UC that i seen was running a Lev 3 dash from a VN all you would have to do is add a patch harness from a Calais.Distance to empty runs off the computer not bcm afaik.

Got a couple hours spare yesdy arvo. The fuel filter after pump had minimal shit in it, which I think is a good sign. I also fitted the fmhe, had to cut a lip off the rad support, Which left 2 skins apart (the lip had spot welds) so I just put a few stitches with the tig along it. I nutserted the top and bottom rails so removal is easy if needed. I'm sitting on the plane going back to work now for 4 weeks then going Europe for 4 weeks after that so progress is going to be slow, which sucks as I've got everything ready to go, including the link ecu. Probably won't make powercruise.

Still trying to come up with interior ideas. Something like this is more than likely instore for the doortrims but maybe not as pointy looking

And I might cut the headrests off the front seats

My uncles going to look at a vs statesman interior on the weekend as I'm still away at work. Goin to dummy it up n see wat it looks like, the front sets have a nice shape with a bit of sidewall to hold u in. I'm also tryin to figure out wat to do with the dash the odometer has shit itself again and fuel
Gauge doesn't work with cell. The haltech racepack seems like an easy solution, has everything I want but a digital dash in a Torana/street car?? Do you think it will look out of place or what? Opinions please :-)

been getting a bit done on the car lately. i chucked my job in, vought a new camera today so time for an update with some nice pics, ur probly all getting sick of the iphone quality. i decided to remove the fan box in the bay the heater underdash, vents the whole lot. Takes up so much bloody room.

now il have space to relocate the relays in the bay under there, along with the a few new bits and pieces. I also relocated the carbon cannister to under the drivers guard, suprising how much rooms under there, the horns and w2a pump will also be joining it. Im going to stall on the interior now and focus on getting the new ecu in, new wiring and ecu all sorted, extra switches for nitrous, AIM MXL digital dash or the haltech, still undecided.

That way i can move switches around when we build the console and make it all neat and trimmed in. heres a few pics of what ive been upto.

nitrous bottle installed, il be building a false floor around it, the heights going to be inline with the top of the bracket ive welded onto the cell.

the spaghetti under the dash, including alarm that spacs out everytime you open a door/boot glovebox haha, randomly started doing it after last tune. Wires tapped into wires upon wires.
Posted Image

cooler lines have been mounted to rad support, just got to get some more fittings to run braid off plastic pump.
Posted Image

testing out my new bench grinder\polishing setup, come up ok, i didnt spend much time on it, was in pretty average condition to start with.
Posted Image

The bay with the fan removed, im going to bolt a plate over it for now, WHEN engine lets go, lol il smooth bay and do it all properly. But now il have room for ls1 coils and oil catch can

update time, been in europe 4 weeks but getting a bit more done now im back and not doing fifo work anymore/

-12 fittings welded on, spent a bit of time polishing these up nice. They had some deep scratches and were in a flat #2 finish when i bought them. Now full #8 mirror finish.
Posted Image

more port work on the blower, ive removed the "bridge" this normally seals air off to the factory intake manifolds square intake, Now that im going to be raunning a w2a core under it i need as much surface area as possible so ive opened it all up and ported the intake manifold to match.

cooler plate pulled down, n cleaned up, now resealed.
Posted Image
Since im going to be running ls1 coilpacks i wont be needing these bolt bosses anymore. Plenty hours ahead!
Posted Image

basic shaping
Posted Image
only had 150grit sandpaper, not course enough to get my lines set n straight. Yes im a fussy prick :)
On another note i pulled wiring loom out and also discovered that the e85 in my lines has eaten thru the permaseal on the fittings in my fuel rails....
Posted Image
you can see the green coming thru, the e85 has been in there since january, im going to assume my injectors are gummed up aswell, i might also cut down a piece of rubber hose inline and have a look inside. Lucky there is very minimal rubber hose maybe 180mm total on supply side

in my quest to produce a good looking v6 bay, much dattomans disgust(not that he would even come into my thread) haha, ive finished the tensioned, plans are to polish and relocate the alt to powersteering pump pos, this will fully expose the charger. The plan is to make it look as little commy v6 as possible.

nice work.

do you recon you'll have any problems with boost feeding into bearings?

The bearings are still sealed. I've read up that the holes are only there to press the bearings out if a rebuild is needed. 15 odd psi shouldn't worry them at all.
Fitted my wide band sensor bung tonight.

Chopped my centre up again. Fitted wideband display into the centre and glassed an Ali plate in place to cover existing heater control hole. Also fitted nitrous/purge solenoid arm switch and purge button to the right and over the other side thermo fan and bottle warmer switches. Left some room for warning lights

I love this build. Top job. It's great to see UC's being utilized. They are a very modern looking car.

Hey dude great work, I've been following your thread for a while now.

Shouldn't be long before I get a build thread up on my UC, I'm in Perth too.

Started making up some catch cans this arvo. Mines going to have -12s n a mates -8. I've put a -4 on mine to dummy up a return to intake to keep the boys in blue happy, even tho it's going to have a filter breathing to atmosphere. I went to put the second -12 fitting on n got a stray arc which rooted the thread. Goin to have to get another tommorow.

The gas lense I was using was Probly a bit too big as I was trying to get good gas coverage and a nice clean weld. Shit happens.

Finished product

I also scored one of these dirt cheap. It's only had dyno work for around 4-5 hours

Was working dido as a sheet metal worker which is my trade then was fifo for a bit as a boily. I'm working back in Malaga now as a welder/boily. It's good to be able to go home every night and get a bit done on the car.
