I've made a mistake, it was 124mph. Naturally aspirated, stick shifted.

Thats one angry little torana.
Get it to go straight out of the hole and would be a bit quicker again one would think.

I saw that torana at the nostalgia meeting ,it's FAST ,sounds great , very high rpm .Got to see under the bonnet but not close enough for a good look ,it was definatley a holden block (distributor was in the center, chev 6 is at the front),looks like a nine port head but not sure if it was a holden casting, big pipes , looked like 2" su's on a very short manifold.Looked like N/A to me, I couldn't see any No2 gear from where i was standing. To do this needs serious intake port airflow and stable valvetrain. It was my favourite car of the meeting. It ran 11.00 first time out ,Congratulations to those boys ,top effort.

It sounded like a 4 speed to me,I know they used a saginaw in the FC ute ,it could be that box. But really the impressive thing about that car is how much horsepower it makes to do 124mph , must be over 350hp. Even your mother could do a 12 in this car!

He said he is using a Toploader.

Toploaders have a nice spread of ratios, they usually come out fastest in 1/4 mile programmes, I used one behind the 350 in my '36 ford coupe old skool hot rod.

My HB was consistently running 11.2 @ 116 at AIR in September, well, before that horrible head wind started up anyway. I put a thread up about it in September I think
