Not through his fault though! I know Greg tries his best to find stock and does pay good $ for the right car, but Toranas have gone stupid and they just aren't out there for him to buy.

Sooner or later there will be no torana parts to buy.

You ask different wreckers around nsw they have no torana parts,

Iv'e had wreckers ask me if i had any torana parts for sale,

I reckon in the next coupla years there going to be harder and harder,

To find something thats half decent,or buy a commplete 4 door and keep it for parts.

Cheers.

Welcome to the HK-HG Monaro world (world where bits have been hard to find for a long time now)!
Many of you would have seen the SLR5000 shell in etch primer Greg has in the yard with bits cut off it all over the place. Bits getting very hard to find is the reason I decided to let Greg cut it up and wreck it out. At least most of it's parts have gone to good homes.

there is 15 toranas here at the moment lc to uc and 17 years of parts stored inside...i just went and looked at the cars in the yard to see how stripped they are and i can still see lots of good bits on em so im not sure what you were looking at?

That's not bad guys for bits. There ain't a single HK-HX Monaro in Greg's yard so at least bits for Toranas are still in a wrecking yard somewhere!

what i probably meant was that we were running low on good clean panels and the obvious fast moving hard to get bits..

the new one would have been the blue lx which was so clean i stripped it to a certain point and then i sent it out to my mates property to save it and do a replica race car with a twist..thats happening next year..

the stripped out uc has now gone to china... :tomaatit:

Torana's are getting very rare for parts which sends prices in one direction - North

Glad I still have all my straight bumpers and unsmashed nose cones, guards, front cuts and all the rest. Its like sitting on a mini goldmine. Panel beaters wont touch them so I have plenty of spares in case I have an accident.

there are many wreckers up here in qld with a few rana s but the prob is they have been sitting out in the yard for to long and everything has gone to rot ,
and then you ask for something like the repairable door i asked about (fairly rusty)and they wanted $300 for it!!

I m not saying all yards are like this but the ones that have the parts are usually like this.
good on ya ozbox for storing the parts not like most that just let them go to rot .

I guess it comes down to another thing aswell when i was growing up (my old man is a fanatic) torana s were a dime a dozen and most were just sent to scrap as they didnt really hold value until now where they are getting rarer.
