Do something about that crossmember will ya!! :D

Looks smoooth as mate.

Yeah, the cross member will get tidied up once I've made a couple of small changes for the power steering rack to fit.

As for the photo shop comments - how rude. As if I would ever do that : )

grrrrrrr.....IT'S NOT YELLOW....hahha. It's barbados green. I used to own it a few years ago. I know it's a bit sad putting a car on there I don't have any more, but I didn't think a hilux would be fitting here :

hehehe! Yellow! .....cough :)

Hahahahaha Kush. Love it :spoton:

You do know there is only one colour that you can adjust the saturation to Bright Green and also magenta! It's all to do with the colour wheel... So you have actually showed us the colour accidentally! LOL

Should i tell the people?

But you can go from one colour to the next still Matt, like if he went from the original colour to magenta, then slective colour replace to another colour etc.

But I think you are right though :)

Would it happen to be one of our favorite colours?

I personally think it is one of the greatest colours that can be laid down onto a torana...

Copy and paste one of the images shown into Photoshop, and play with the Saturation... Play with it until it looks 'normal' - Concrete colour, masking tape colour etc etc... :tease:

Oh, and then desaturate it and match it with the black and white images shown... lol

I actually got the pink shade from the green photo, so it must be green : )

I'll post some pics of the colour tonight. I just felt like being a jerk and not showing it :dontknow:

I was only bullshitting bout the colour wheel stuff too! HAHA!

But playing the the photo, my guess is that its Orange!

Red/Orange made the concrete, masking tape and other stuff look 'normal', Desaturated red is darker than the grey in the BW pics... So Orange it is!! LOL

Good Colour choice!

Well, I guess I've put it off long enough. The colour is light black : )

OK, today the hinges got put back together after being coated. I machined up new door hinge bushes from nylon and they went together really well.

The doors and hatch then got rehung onto the car.

Every bolt going back onto the car will be stainless.

The paint is clear over base lamborghini orange. It's a solid colour, as pearls and metallics are too common, and fad colours like ford focus orange with gold pearl will date the car too much, where the solid colour on a 70's car is timeless.

I'm not trying to offend anyone with metallic or pearl paint, it's just not what this car is about. As for me, I like black : )

So there you go. Now you've seen the real colour. Or have you???

What the hell? Why does it keep changing colour? Or maybe I'm just reading this out of context. Whatever colour that is it looks smooth as a baby's arse, Dirtbag. Nice work. Look forward to seeing some more photos.

My missus picked orange from the B&W. I chose red... Oh well. Lambo colour, huh? Nice. Mines Ferrari red so maybe they'll both go really fast! :) I prefer base colours on torries too.

I have to say, me being someone who isn't really a fan of red, I do see the attraction to ferrari red. Good choice Kush. Any pics?

As for getting the rest of it painted, we're hoping to get the rest of it done by the end of next week. That includes all the other little bits that need to be colour coded. Fingers crossed : )

Yep I love an orange Torana also...

I was very close to having my LX SS painted that Ford XR5 electric orange...an awesome standout colour!

.....mine is in the paint shop as we speak...primered a week or so ago...too late to change my mind now, as I've brought the paint.... plain old white and black.... (it's a 1888).

I guess I should get off my arse and start a thread, as this build and a couple of others on here got me motivated again.

Thanks for sharing, and continued success...

sorry mate, no pics because I sent the car away to my parents house for a while. I had some severe storage issues which I have sorted out. Now I just gotta figure out how to get it back. They live 6 hrs drive away :( shouldn't be too long though. I was never really a fan of red either. I wanted a silver hatch. But I came across a panel beater who wanted to buy a house so he sold it to me with no motor or box. The bodywork is beautiful and I was surprised by the colour because all the ferraris I've seen in photos seem to be a bit of a boring red. But in the flesh, it seems to have a striking glow about it. So the colour has grown on me and I will keep it. :)

So Matt, does this mean I can get this thing a full feature in Street Machine when it's finished? It'll actually be a "street" machine though, so that'll be unusual :badabing:

Kush, I know how you feel with storage issues : (

Your car sounds excellent. Make sure you post pics when you get it back. There's be lots of folks here who'd like to see it, me included : )
