Today sure was fun. I got to sand the intake manifold and prime it, then pull the outer bits off the motor and started cleaning for paint. Yay!
I even invented a new light weight "race" sump : )
Once the new sump was made (hehe) I took the fuel rails, injectors, power steering res, coils, belts and various other pieces to get at the intake better for priming. Everything will eventually come off for painting.
The joys of sanding intake manifolds. Makes a big difference though having it all smooth.
A quick mask up and ready for primer.
It looks 100 times better already even just in primer. I'm glad I bothered to sand it smooth now. Even though the engine covers will cover most of the engine, I wanted this part to be better than stock.
I started priming some of the smaller brackets too. Here's the modified accelerator cable mount.
At least there's only a crapload of small things to paint : )
Speaking of paint, the inside of the guards and nose cone got done earlier and now they're fitted back onto the car.
All the inner edges of the guards and nose cone in the engine bay are painted.
I think the inner hinge area looks awesome with the new paint and HPC coated hinges with stainless bolts. mmmmm......shiny : )
These rotten hairy caterpillars love this car. I'm always getting these little bastards on me when I work and they make you itch like mad. I get great pleasure from squashing as many of them as I can.
I took a few bits home today. Nice to know it's nearly done.
So there you go : )

At least now we know its not yellow or barbados green - the background colours are all wrong.
I assure you, the background colours are all correct. Keep guessing : )
