The engine covers are bright! I'm starting to come around on that big air intake thing, will be interesting to see what it looks like back in the engine bay.

Porn. :clappin: Love the black round the back lip of the bonnet, another nice little touch.
Looking great, I like the way you have dressed up the engine. I agree about the LS generally being an ugly engine.

WOW!

I love the shiny engine. Really nice but when I scrolled down the page and saw the finish of the bonnet... That is some nice paint work! I do like the black edge under the bonnet too.

It really is the finer detail that makes the car isn't it?

I cant wait to see it all together and painted. Who would ever know its a UC? Just amazing Tim.

If you want a laugh squint your eyes a bit and the air intakes look like my dads moustache only orange. Posted Image

I've been watching this thread with interest and am in awe of your efforts and workmanship.

Top class in every way and like everyone I can't wait to see the finished result.

Keep the updates coming.

Thanks a lot guys. I really appreciate the kind words. It's been a fairly big job this one, and I've really enjoyed it, but I also really enjoy reading the posts that you all write, especially the ones that are funny or say how awesome I am hahaha. I know, I suck :badabing:

Hi MCH11N. Yes, there is another project about to start. I've started a post in the non torana projects section.

Can't remember exactly what I called it but it's something along the lines of - Body resto for 69 camaro.

Haven't done a lot yet, but will hopefully start getting into it this week.

Yeah the motor does look tidy. It seems like it belongs to an Autobot.

I have passed over this thread as it mentioned a UC (sorry to all the UC owners) :<_<:
but when I read that this thread got canned I wondered what all the fuss was. It took me 2 days to go through
it and all I can say I am blown away at the job you are doing, rarely do you come across someone who is willing to put
so much effort into a car/project which isnt their own.

I look forward to every update now and am sure a lot of us sitting here who have read through this thread are amazed at your many skills,
from fabrication, electrical, welding, panel beating, fibre glassing, painting and even mechanical, etc. WOW.

Cheers Louie.

Thanks Louie, glad you've enjoyed it. I have to admit, maybe saying "UC" in the thread title was a bad move : ) Sorry UC people.

I really like UC toranas. I think they're a great platform to make an LX hahahaha : )

Kush, if this car is an autobot, what's it's name?

erm..... Well I can't use bumblebee because it's not a camaro ( or a VW Beetle like in the 1980s cartoons) so ..... I don't really know. How about dirtbagatron Prime until we can think of something better. I'm still dirty that "sideways" (Audi R8) got chopped in half by "sideswipe" (2009 corvette) in the first ten minutes of the second movie. I wanted to see more of my "lotto win" car. Mmmmm V10s. :)
geeez I ramble on. It's quite tragic really

probably not, but I think it needs a badge on it to distinguish it's awesomeness. How about a little badge on the bum like Holden did on a few of their cars. You know the 'holden by design' ones?? I think 'dirtbag by design' has a very nice ring to it :) waddaya think?

Ha dirtbag, If you are going to name your brothers car Dirtbagatron Prime you should put this badge on it.
We had a silver ve ute at work a couple of weeks ago. He put a transformers badge on his tail gate and stickers on his doors "To punish and enslave"
He must have really liked the move. Posted Image

Yeah! That's brilliant! I think that decepticon badge is way cool. Did he say where he got it?

Not sure where he got the badge from, but he said he used the outer ring from the Holden badge and trimmed the transformer badge to fit.
He also put a little transformer in the HSV badge that goes on the guards.
