Rubbish - classic cars have steel bumpers - painted or chromed.

I don't mind chrome bumpers on classic cars but I prefer painted bumpers on classic sports cars.

OK people. I did a bit of mucking about today. Cleaning up a few areas and retapping the nutserts etc.

I even fitted the rear wheels and got the rear flares and tail lights bolted on.

I had to drive into town to get the piping for the flares, but I got it at a place for a pretty good price I think. Compared to Clark Rubber anyway.

There's not really much to see at this stage, but I thought I'd let a cat out of the bag for you guys for all your support and funny comments : )

The rear flares are still to have the piping trimmed up at one end, so don't hassle me!!!! : )

Look!!!! A wheel hahaha

Posted Image

Here's a better look. There's a few cars I've seen with the same style wheel, but at least they're not too common yet. I really like them I think they suit the era well.

Posted Image

I marked out the piping against the flare on the work bench, and used a leather punch to put the holes in. Seemed to work well, and holds the piping on nicely.

Here's the left side.

I love the dish on these wheels too : )

This colour goes nuts in the sun. Very good for a solid colour.

Posted Image

I refitted the filler neck and lid for the windscreen squirters too. This is all you'll see, yet they'll still be nice and easy to top up with water.

Posted Image

There seems to be something weird about that shadow : )

Posted Image

I'm glad the underside of the bonnet got a little bit of smoothing, especially the holes that are usually up near the latch. Looks much better smooth.

Posted Image

Shiny door handles. Looks good without the locks too, and will go nicely with the CHROME BUMPERS!!!!!!!! hahaha... get it right people!

Posted Image

Now I just need to fill this big area with something noisy : )

Posted Image

So there you go. No more secrets to learn, so now you can all bugger off : ) hahaha. No, don't do that. I'll miss the comments too much.

Thanks waldorf : ) hahaha

But Bomber, I want the crossmember to be a rat rod : )

It'll be coming out soon, getting painted, and having everything mounted to it before the body goes back over the top of the lot.

Can't wait to see the motor in there!!

^ It was kind of an anti-climax...

The black piping works very nicely to break up the orange, looks great
