I wonder if it didn't get judged as a UC because the judges didnt look at the tags! lol.
Panel work is beautiful.

I reckon you're on the money here Chris. The modifications were so good people didn't know this car was a UC.
A real credit to you Tim, enjoyed catching up with you and talking torana's.
Cheers Mick.

Here's brother helping get the rear seat back in the car.
Test run. Nice and cosy : )
Looks a tad better in the back with the rear seat in place.
This is the last pic of the car in my shed. A bit sentimental really.
On the friday night before toranafest we loaded the car onto the trailer and stuck it in my new shed for the night. It only just fit. The guy who erected it had only finished as we pulled up, so it was good timing.
Simon took this pic on our way to newcastle. Bloody tail gaters.
Still there : ) Before you say anything, the jerry can was empty. It was a just in case moment.
The saturday night in newcastle we stayed in Hotel Commodore overnight. We found a lovely spot in a carpark with a dead gorgeous view : )
Next morning it was off for a McMuffin and onto the show.
It was great to get to the show and see all the great quality cars there, and meet a whole bunch of you guys too.
Finally in Canberra we found a quiet place to unload the car. We wanted to drop the ramps onto a gutter so they weren't so steep.
This is the first time the car touched Canberra soil, so to speak.
Simon driving the car home from where we unloaded it, with tail light out and all : ) It sure was a relief to see it off the trailer and driving along. Enjoy brother!!!
So, there you go. That's me done. I hope you enjoyed the thread, if not, sucked in for reading 63 pages for nothing : )

Matt, I give the shed a week until it's deemed too small : (
OK Bomber, here's the escort. One of the reasons for towing the torana down to canberra was so I could pick the escort up from Sutton, just outside canberra.
It's a 72 MK1 2 door with a big block 1300 with a 4 speed. Awesome!
It was a one owner car until I came along. I've named the car Dennis, after the original owner. I think it suits him.
Here's Dennis and Dennis : )
It's even got some badass coil overs : )
Rust wise it's bloody amazing. It has a few dents, but that's no biggie.
I've bought a set of works flares for it so most of the guard problems will be cut off : )
This is back at my house now after a quick wash.
It's had a shunt up the bum at some stage so the boot doesn't line up properly any more, but this stuff is easy to fix. At least it's not rusty.
Looks good on this side though : )
Loading it into the new shed. It was a lot easier to tow than the torana, as it's about half the weight : )
Here's the volksrod, escort, V8 hilux and LH ute all undercover finally!!!!
Hopefully I'll be getting the power hooked up on monday or tuesday next week so will be able to move into the shed properly and start working in there.
Can't wait!!!!
I've never had a shed I could fit 4 cars in, let alone a shed I could fit 4 cars in and not even really know they're there : ) hehehe
Well, this is it, no more escort stuff in here, as I've not done a thing to it yet : )
Thanks again to everyone who wrote in the thread or helped out with parts. I've really enjoyed doing this thread and talking to you all. Make sure you come and annoy me in the 69 camaro thread : )
Tata.

THis car has been tranformed in one of the best muscle cars I've seen!
also love the little escort - I bought one of them in mint condition for $100 about 12 years ago for bushbashing around my folks place when I was in high school. Was a great little car. Sold it for about $400 after a few years of abuse! Prob a rare car in good condition these days.

Love the shed! Definetly enough room for more projects now. Did you build the shed yourself or get pre-fab?
No, I didn't build it. Southern Cross Sheds at Yandina is who it's from. It only took them 7 days from start to finish. Not bad!

Clint, I guess the flares would now sit maybe half a mm off the body now, so definitely nothing the plastic piping wont hide. I'll definitely be using them on anything with bolt on flares, spoilers etc.
i have just put all the nut sert in and have gone to put the flares on and i have a gape between the flare and the body due to the nut sert which the piping will not fill/cover did you have this issue? if so how did you get around it as the flare sits about 1-2 mil off the body now and on the top of wheel arch/flare arch it will not grip/hold the flare piping...

Also, because I put the nutserts in a fair while before top coat went on, I was able to build the flares up a bit meaning there was only about a 1mm gap anyway.
I hope that's of some help.
