I think I know what your getting at Terry.
I don't go to the snow or desert.
I use Castrol corrosion inhibitor. No anti-freeze, anti-boil, just a sraight inhibitor.

I rarely use more than 500ml of concentrate, 3 or 4 Litres of pre mix.
Yeah, inhibitor is only really needed in urban climates.

Edit - I hate the word anti boil, most MSD's for anti freeze/anti boil state running 33 - 50% will raise boiling point by 9deg C - lol - if your car wont run 110 deg C without boiling with plain water then there is something seriously wrong.

I'm thinking about using Waterwetter, have heard good things about it so might give it a try. I think we had a discussion on this forum awhile back and most said it was good :)

Just picked up on this old thread because i wanted to use a radiator coolant product in my car.

short answer is only an inhibitor can be used on the cars running the standard copper brass radiators and cast blocks. The other anti freeze products will damage the radiator

Nulon have a guide you can use, which includes radiator fluids, I'm pretty sure that you can add some royal purple, purple ice to it, no problems. It's been proven to work better than water wetter anyway. Royal purple give mixing ratios on their website. Gary.

Water Wetter here too. Tried that green shit and the temps went up 15-20 degrees.

Flushed and refilled with WW. Took the pump off last week and found a small glob of white gel in the pump that had chewed a hole through the alloy.

New one on the way.

Always in two minds if the temp seems to rise wgen you try various coolants.
I've heard a theory that all that means is that it is doing a better job. i.e. actually transfering more heat from the block/ head to the coolant. Assuming the sender is in the coolant flow.

Will probably end up running Toyota long life coolant (red).  I will be using a aluminium radiator though.
