Dont get me wrong im just as big a bogan as the next bloke....Suppose there just not for me.

yldlj, my last post wasnt directed at you when i said standard engine, sorry if you took it that way, was referring to the one in the youtube vid.

Horses for courses, whatever floats ya boat.

Theres a bog stock 96 Magna getting around here with steel rims and all the jaz....and the biggest dwift spekk spoiler Autobarn sells on the boot.......I pmsl everytime i see it but im sure the owner is proud....I would class the gilmer drive on the car in that youtube vid to be about the same level.

Cheers.

If someone gave one to me I would not hesitate to use it. I just think I could spend the money better, as Zac stated.

Spend that money on thermo's first, you won't regret it.
Then you can fit Gilmers later on. Or if you don't want them, refer your mate to me. I'm seriously considering a set for my new engine (that will be built one day...), I thought they were dodgy in the pulley sizing arrangement but apparently I was wrong.
I will buy them if they are going at a good price.

Mate realistically if you stuck one on a bog stock engine its the exact same thing, wank factor and RICE.

On a modded motor i can kinda understand it, not that i have ever had a problem with belts slipping and i wouldent have one personally.

Each to there own.

Cheers.

come to think of it, i bought this setup to run with the mechanical injection... as the pump runs a gilmer pulley, the same thickness as this kit. its a 1 inch wide belt

Use the one you took off with the old pulley

probably wont work as it wont fit inside the pulley thats why the nuts that come with it are round and turned down on the end with a smaller hex head.

All the ones I've seen are designed to fit the original nut and don't come with one

yeah the one from the previous page/ ebay one is like that, this one has more of a solid pulley with a hole only big enough to fit the supplied nut. it was the only 1 inch wide kit i could find to match the belt driven fuel pump.

i would probably prefer the other kind that used the original nut

"Pretty big wank factor, probably second highest to a crane cams sticker on the rear window."

Bahahahahahaha! I might put one on my high performance tuff street LC just for more street cred! Lol

On a more serious note, what are the gear drive kits like. Are they noisey, any known issues.
