as the Motel is fully booked out, they are referring people to another motel. If you call the motel on 1800131735, they will put you in touch with the other one.

I hope to add an update of what is happening, this weekend..

Seems I'm in a situation for accomodation on the Saturday night also

I'm not too keen on pitching a tent with Bomber

Any suggestions ?

Will you have transport or need transport on the day?

Depending on your budget there is a Crown plaza just down the road from the foreshore, and tonnes of other joints near by (google

)

We'll have a bunch of empty seats in cars for the drive up if you can find somewhere cheaper on the coast.

Or, you can sleep under the carport out the back if you dont want to pitch a tent

Hi all just letting you know entrant numbers are at 184 well up on last years at this stage. Remember that the goody bags cut off at 250 with the House Full sign going up after entry 285.
Also a reminder to Clubs and forum members that are coming to Toranafest that the cut off date to pre enter is the 1st of September as per entry form.
Any entries received later than that and you will not be guaranteed a park with your club. On the day entrants will not be parking with their clubs, unless substituting for a no show for that club.
This allows us to best configure the ground markings for Clubs, traders market stalls etc. With larger numbers we are focused on getting the cars parked as quickly as possible, we do not want people frustrated waiting in their cars watching the temperature gauge. We also want to get people off the main street to the safety of the registration area.

I hope all understand why we need to do this.

I will keep all updated on numbers.

G'day All

Just back from Wagga and the birth of our 5th grand-daughter :clappin:

That's 2 in 2 weeks :surrenderwave:

Been down there since Monday arvo as the son's partner was having a bit of trouble and also needed someone to look after Emma (19 months)

Datto I had phoned around for you so let me know if all is sorted

Missing out on the "meet & greet" BBQ Saturday night at the Toranafest Motel as well as mixing with all of the other entrants is something you don't want to do :cry:

Hi All!!

TORANAFEST UPDATE...

28 DAYS TO GO!!

I thought that it was appropriate to give you all an update and summary of what is happening over the weekend.

Saturday 18th

This is going to be a great lead up day to the 'fest! With the Official Motel FULL :welcome:

, those staying their will be surrounded by a sea of Toranas! It will be a car show in itself!!

Due to popular demand, the HVTC, with assistance from the VTC and the QTCC, will be running a cruise into Newcastle on the Saturday afternoon. :driving:

Rest assured, no one will get lost as our own members will be disperesed throughout the convoy!

This will commence from the motel at around 2.30pm and will see the cars make their way through to Newcastle and then onto Bar Beach Car Park, the original starting point for Toranafest back in 1994!!

We expect that some 50 - 60 cars will be involved and this will be a Torana Cruise not to be missed!! Who knows who might even jump in your car as well??

The sight of that many Toranas driving through Newcastle will scare off even the most hardened "Doof, Doof'er"!! Look out, Toranas about!!

After cruising to Bar Beach for a few happy snaps, the cruise will then head back to the Motel, just in time to put the cars away for the night and get ready for the evenings event that is the official "Meet & Greet BBQ"!!

At last count the numbers for this are well over 200 :clap:

and it promises to be a great night! Todd Martin will again be our MC and we have been able to put together a night filled with Interviews, Presentations, Auctions, as well as a couple of other surprises!! You might even get a chance to have a chat to someone famous!!

If you are not staying at the motel, and would like to attend, you need to emial me at [email protected]
Numbers are limited and this is the only way you can be assured of attending!!

A point to note, the VIP's that are attending will not be asked to do any signings on the night as we want them to have night off as well.

As at yesterday we have 186 Entrants!! :rockon:

That's about 50 up from the same time last year!!
We can see that we are now looking at a record number of entrants and as Pete has said before, we will be hanging the "Car Park Full" sign at 285!! So if you haven't enetered already, don't put it off any longer because if you do, you may be parking your car on Wharf Rd!

We have a host of great Trade and food stands to satisfy most people and if you feel like taking a stroll around New'y, there are some great places to visit, like Fort Scratchley. A great place for that Toranafest Photo op!

We have a great range of Merchandise available and the theme "Living in the 70's" has been carried through to some of these items. Items available will include;
T'fest Caps,
Stubbie Coolers,
Lanyards,
Toranafest 2010 Collectable pin,
Toranafest Bottle opener,
Flags, and
much more!!

Sunday will see a day packed full of interesting things to see and do! Be sure to pick up your copy of the Toranafest Itinerary when you pick up your goody bag!

Autograph hunters will have their chance to grab a signature or two at a couple of times during the day. A gold coin donation is all that it will cost!

"Gentlemen, start your engines!!" is back!! At 12.00pm we will do our one minute "Rev up" to pay tribute to those that have passed away.. This is a sound spectacular not to be missed!!

Fashions on the Field: For those wanting to get into the theem of Living in the 70's, we will have a competition to judge the best dressed male and female on the day!!

Toranafest Auction: This will see us hold the final auction of the weekend, with plenty of items to be brought!

At the end of the day, we will hold the Trohpy Presentation for the Sponsor's Choice Awards, capping off a great day.

Anyway, thats about all I can tell you at the moment. Just enough to get you out there and working on your cars!

I look forward to saying "Hi" to you all at Toranafest 2010!
