Hey Guys.
Thort that i would do a similar calendar as i did last year with all the events where street cars can be put through their paces.
I will be getting down to as many as i can.
I haven't added the collie events in, but would be keen to get a trailer and head down and give that track a wirl.
Let me know if i missed any out and ill add them in.
At the moment the Torry needs a tune and the extra valve springs put in , so hopefully the first event shouldn't be too far away.
Enjoy

Evan.

Finally got the valve springs done on the Torry and is getting a tune and a few runs on the dyno to see what the numbers are.

Booked into the No limits night on the 25th march. Should be a good night.

There is still plenty of spaces free.

Had a good night at the barbs last thursday. The now motor went well but was getting oil surge on the turn after the back straight.
I kept going but had to head home as i was running low on oil as it kept burning it.
Either way, lots of fun and plenty of things to work on before the next event.

Hey Datpsi do you need a cage to enter the sprint series?

No cage required

What are your breathers like and do you run top end oil restrictors Evan ?

No top end oil restrictors. Just a standard volume oil pump.
Have a catch can off one side of my standard VN style rocker covers and the other side to a PCV to the back of the carby.

Mite try putting a bigger catch can on and get rid of the PCV, brassing up and re drilling my push rods or running some direct lines to drain back to the sump.
Also had bits of oil blowing over my spark leads near the dip stick.

Evan that oil on the spark plugs near the dipstick will be oil blowing up and out of the top of the dipstick.

How big are your breather pipes ?
Catch can needs to be 3L or larger capacity

Mark. I thort that was where it was coming from and Darren told me to put a spring on my dip stick to hold it down. Will have to do that.

Datto. my breather pipes are the size of water pipes that come off the water pump etc. My catch can is only small. About 1Lt.
Here is a link of a similar one off ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com....=item19b87e06bd

Maby will have to go for something bigger. Can i just cut big holes on top of my rocker covers and put filters on top? or will that blow oil out the top of them?, im taking that is why you have to have them routed to a vented catch can.

Im home on the 16th so trying to decide to go to no limits or hit up mc motorsport. Any other Torry's in Perth up for an event?

16th,

OK , I'll come out to play . Let me know what you work out.

Catch can, it needs to be larger if you have an engine failure. All that oil has to go somewhere.

If you are losing lots of oil per session, don't settle for a bigger bucket to put it in, find the leak !

CAMS regulation is 3L for an engine over 2.0 capacity
So if you want to start doing CAMS events you'll need to uprate it
As far as your breathers are concerned
Big is best without doubt here

I was loosing oil because it was burning it in a big way when i was going around the last corner after the back straight.
Was strange because there was no oil in my catch can at all. Either way ill let her breath a bit more and c how it goes.

Ill let ya know what event i decide to do.

Last month the torana wasnt ready , so i took my bro's RX-7 down and had a heap of fun. Got plenty of laps in too.
I got the breathers on the rocker covers and am ordering a KMAC front bar on monday.
Got a few other mods i want to get done too.
Either way im booking into no limits on the 20th of may. Good chance of getting the torry ready.
