That's a great photo Grant, although you don't tell very good jokes!! You must've fixed his door or something for him to let you look at it! Boot floor, sadly no , although progressing other bits.

Cheers for the PM Bazza. I don't have a lot on the history of my car only the names of the past couple of owners. I know it has had a few restos in the past as we found Red under the Yellow and the original Chateau Mauve under the Red. Think it is just going to be a bit of a mystery car when it comes to finding out the dealer.
Thanks once again Bazza,
Brett.

I saw a Chateau Mauve XU1 at the Whieman Park motor museum in Perth last week . Looked pretty sweat to . This week in my continuing search for a Torana of my own i found a 72 GTR that was white with black trim . I gave the numbers to Bazza and he tells me that it was originally Chateau Mauve as well ( 567-13884 ) . The car has Black trim but the trim number 1842-48x is apparently Flax . What sort of colour is flax . Has anyone got a GTR or XU1 with a Flax interior . I thought most would be Black . Is it easy to paint match Chateau Mauve if i decide to buy it and get it painted .
Cheers

Don't forget this one
The bonnet never gets lifted and the owner is friends of a well known NSW-based molesterer of 2-door LCs/LJs but I'll vouch for it anyway. Sorry, no numbers available.
Definitely orchid, i used to own one, late 1973 build, fitted with optional close ratio m21, fully restored in early 90's, sold to a guy named Derek in Bairnsdale in approx 1992. would like to know what happened to it. anyone got any ideas

The XU-1 in the latest Motor magazine is Chateau Mauve.
Aldo used to own that many moons ago I believe.

There was another Chateau Mauve one in Bunbury and my ex Bunbury XU-1 was painted that way and so were a couple of others in the area.
There was one near Bridgetown and the Nannup cop had another one as his personal car, this car was purchased from MT Barker and sold to someone by the name of Ball at Williams or Wagin WA.
A guy at Capel WA had a Chateau Mauve one too this was traded in at a Rollystone Car yard near Perth, don't know what happened to it. I had worked on this one a couple of times in the mid 1980's
So there is a few more to add to your numbers!

You will need to throw up all the numbers from the 3 tags, the VIN is the most important one to help identify it for a starting point.
