Here you can see the orange peel on the guard vs bonnet

The guard without cut/polish

Bonnet after cut/polish

You can see the huge difference it has made!

The bonnet had by far the worst orange peel, i sorted the gun out by the rest of the car but its nothing more sanding cant fix

Ive mowed the lawn and pruned some trees,Im just settling down to a nice cold beer and a sticky beak on the forum and Ive just checked your thread.
Looks like the guilt has kicked in and Im off to the shed to wetrub my car.
Thanks for the kick in the bum.
By the way, your car looks freakin magic.

the bonnet came up like glass mate well done a wet rub with 2000 and a polish shel look tops
I just wish it was 100% straight, bonnet was the worst panel on the car. Good candidate for a scoop

I have polished the passenger side of the car above the body line so far, i've also polished the nose cone. Its time consuming but i'm getting there. I worked out if you soak the 1500grit paper for a few days you can get away with doing the entire car with it and then buff with very nice results. Quicker too!

The roof is still work in progress, 1/4 of it is cut back...

Yes the buffing compound is EVERYWHERE...

Wow, that's coming up beautiful. Sure is a prick of a job though. I was wondering how this car/thread was going. What types of cutting compound and polishes have you been using? Are you machine polishing it or by hand? One of my mates told me about this thread a while ago and its good to see it progressing. Good luck with it.
It sure is a prick of a job, its just so time consuming... I use Juice polish and a foam buffing pad on a variable speed 8" grinder. The paint shop recommended the juice, so far so good

Oh yeah, no way id ever attempt to hand polish it after a cut with sandpaper. You would be there for years! $100 variable speed grinder ftw!
Very nice Jabba, you really worked your ass off this one ayGreat job
Thanks!
