Black Dice,

Have to say it, nice work mate.

What gauge sizes are you using? The larger gauges look 3 3/8", are the sides 2 5/8" or 2 1/16"?

Keep at the good work.

Peter

2X044 (Peter), the speedometer is 3 3/4", tachometer is 3 3/8" and the fuel pressure and fuel level are 2 5/8". I hope this helps the actual fuel pressure gauge is a little bit smaller as i used the fuel pressure gauge as a template for the outside holes, only to find out when i dummy fitted the fuel level gauge it wouldn't fit, so i had to resand the 1 hole to make it fit but looking at it with your eyes you wouldn't be able to tell.

Mate, finding it hard to type with the keyboard covered in drooooool!

That would have to be one of the best looking hatches I've seen.

Thanks for the details BD, I have a set of Autometers and have no hope of fitting them in the same area as the original gauges came out of. The bezels on the Autometer 3 3/8" gauges are huge...

Thanks again,

Peter

Never seen an axe on a shadow board though...

There are re-builds which turn out looking good, then there are the full ground-up re-builds that turn out looking really good but seriously FA&$@ ME!!! this thing is in another realm all together! I think we will call it the Black Dice Realm.....uummmmm Wow I love everything about it! I don't think i actually know the words to describe my thoughts on the job you have done......just Awesome!

Slow progress but am getting there all to the thanks to cruiza for his time and patience in helping me finish wiring up my car, as he was a big help and was happy to go through it with me and show me what to do, i learnt a lot in the 2 days he was here but i know i still have a lot to learn about auto electrics, but if i ever do it again i will save the money up and pay someone to rewire my car as wiring is not fun. I took some photos of before and after.

Your welcome Brendon, was a pleasure wrking on such a amazing car.

Guys I have to say the pictures do not do this car justice, I was hoping to take some with my good camera but I just didnt have the time Black Dice is such a slave driver had me working from 6:00 am till after 11:00pm!

BD has done all the work on this car himself, I have been the only other person to lay a finger on it. Every bit is his own handy work and everything is first rate, the finish on the paint is so good you just cann't see the surface your eye is drawn into it the panel gaps would make a Lexus look rough, the whole time I was there I was terrified of touching the thing for fear of putting a finger print on it.

Oh and if you are wondering where he gets his talent from his dads car is something else as well, think MB with a bit of chev motivation

Has been awhile since I last posted, so I thought it was time for an update of what I've been up to. First of all I would like to say I hate wiring, as I finally got around to buying a battery that fits my custom battery box only to find out when I hooked the battery up only the back half of the car was working. A couple of days later after spending many hours on my back under the dash going through all my wires I found out it was only a couple of crossed wires and bad earths, that has now all been sorted and the motor is cranking over have not fired the motor yet but hoping to soon. Since the wiring has been completed it was time for the interior to go in, the interior is not show quality, it is basically me my dad some MDF boards from Bunnings 6mts of black vylin, some glue, staple gun and about 2 weeks of some home made trimming. Next on the list was the brake lines, as I had all new brake lines custom made they have all been fitted and now I have brakes. On the weekend I cleaned my seats ready to go in to help finish off the interior, also decided to pull the tyres off the rims strip the chrome from the centre of the mags as I will be painting them 60% black, the tyres on the back are too low in the profile and I have bought another 2 tyres to replace them. Hopefully not too much left to do before its on the road the only thing really slowing me down is the lack of cash flow, but that's part and parcel of doing what I love so much
