I have such a car and I have never had a bad response from the public apart from some boogan women of all people. I think that movie with the mustang with the RB26 in it help the whole retro thing be accepted. Was it tokyo drift or something?

I'm all for engine swaps from different manufacturers as long as the car isn't something special and doing so will ruin the whole appeal of the car.

Top of my head example would be a rotary in an LJ-XUI original...

Seriously cool scottya, I couldn't not like you car if I tried! :spoton:

I love the mods, mixed in with the sleeper style of the car. Hope to see it in the metal one day.

Cheers

Folden?

Now THAT"S disturbing!

Nice metalwork, but the car looks dreadful. Maybe a Mustang front on an XW/XY but not a HQ, that's just pushing it too far.

Yeah the Folden just doesn't quite work. Maybe on a HQ coupe it might look a bit better, but it would need the back end changed to match the front. I also think the curve of the middle section of the HQ continues through the HQ fenders, but the mustang fenders go in a straight line forward and that spoils it. I think it could look nice but it would end up just looking like a Mustang so why bother ? And yes it would be better if it was done to an XR-XY since they are the same sort of boxy design.

Now a Camaro front onto a HQ coupe might be a looker.......

I dont think that style of mustang front would look good on anything but a mustang really.

G'day scottya! Nice project you have here, it may be controversial to some people, but I reckon it's pretty damn tough!

I'm curious about your fuel system... I stumbled over this pic below... can you explain how it's setup. Obviously you're running a return line... is this a standard type of reg? Is the fuel inlet going into the reg, or the rear of your fuel rail? It's different to anything I've seen before... just trying to work out which way it flows, and where the bypass pressure bleeds off... it almost looks like a return-log style setup??

Anyway mate, keep up the good work!

I can't understand why bogans get so upset about putting different brands of engines in cars! Good to see someone actually doing something a bit different. And that front engine mount is such an innovative way of fitting 4 into 1s! Honestly good onya this is fantastic.

Correct me if i am wrong someone,, but was FORD in partnership with BW(Borg Warner) early on in the years when BW was doing R&D with boxes and diffs ?? Not 100% sure, never looked into it.

LX CHEV, That fuel system is a BG fuel system . -10 fuel line from tank to filter and pump, -8 line from pump to carby then into bypass diaphram, -10 line back to tank. Thats how it works !

How early on are we talking? Ford used BW diffs and box's in early falcons didn't they? mate had a XB coupe that had a BW 8" diff in it originally.

Personally not a fan of the ford motor, but you have done a fantastic job on this project and the result looks (and probably goes) great! Really nicely done bay too and very clean!

Top Work

Just waiting for Mark Williams tails shaft to come in from the states.
Then turn key hopefully.

Seen ya car down at craigs the other day, coming along nicely.

Tried to have it ready for powercruise but didn't happen .

G'day fellow torana owners, Finally the thing started this morning. Had issues with ignition but got that sorted after it totally done my head in for 1 week. Auto sparky advised big optima battery, put VR commodore alternator in, isolating switch and all should be good. Will work out later how to post video.

cheers
