great news, was worried you may have given up on it.

Yep! Gave up on it a few times. A Mate talked me into keeping , finishing ,and using for powercruise and drag racing.

They say there is light at the end of the tunnel, but sometimes the closer you get to the light, the light moves further away. But i eventually got to the end of the tunnel :-)).

Nice to see you stuck with it, is it going to be club rego'd? or strip use only?

Haven't been on here for awhile,

managed to take torana out for a test and tune wednesday just to check all the usual things.

All in all was very pleased with how it went.

With 40 litres of fuel and running full exhaust, set the shift light @ 6000 rpm

i was only testing for driveline vibrations and noises, not worrying about 60 foot times, launching and et's.

Loaded car on a mates truck and off to willowbank we went

the only phone video of the first burnout.

Only 2 minor problems were 2 little oil leaks, 1 from transmission breather on top of box and the other from where dipstick goes into block.

All in all car feels good and pulls reaaly hard :)

plenty of pedal left for WOT runs :)

Only had the bonnet up the other night at willowbank looking for where the engine oil was coming from.
One bloke noticed it was a clevo, he had a chuckle and gave me 2 thumbs up.

Nice mate, the origin of the motor doesn't change the fact you've put 393 cubes into a Torana.

Hi Torana folks, Havent been on here for ages, so i thought i would pop me head in give an update.

Had the car @ powercruise sept, what an awesome scary thing to drive :-) , supprised quite a few.

Got some video footage i can post.

Had car at willowbank the other night, brakes will only hold car @ about 3000 rpm to launch.

Car should be launching @ 5500 rpm but not to concerned.

Managed to run a 10.70 sec @ 128 mph with a 60 ft time of 1.571, 60 ft time sort of indicates launch problems.( still no cage)

But running car full trim and full pipes with 60 litres of pump fuel in the cell.

Can post videos..

cheers..

Well done mate! That is a farken tough car you have there! It sounds like a car should and goes just as well.

I'm glad you have stuck with this project as it was a great idea to begin with (original, feasable and awesome), it shut down a lot of nay sayers and it has offended a lot of purists. That's 3 out of 3 in my books!

As your first post said, no one blinks an eye at a 9" and top loader in a Holden, so why not go the whole hog???

I would never do this as I'm not really a Ford lover but no one can argue with the results you have achieved with this car. It is cool in every way! You are a f#cken legend for pulling it off!

Congratulations!

Well done man,it has turned out really well and who cares where an engine comes from, cause at the end of the day, there aint to manny toranas left that don't have a part from some other manufacture.
