I've not raced since the last drag day, and to say i'm hanging out for it is an understatement!
Add me and simmo to the list ( one car of course), and i would prefer april i think on a saturday.
Last time cost $200 per car + $50 for an extra driver.
We had to have a minimum 40 cars and maximum 50 cars on the day.
Now.. i have a question that needs alot of discussion so that everyone is happy:
One thing to come out of the drag day was that alot of member either could not come along, or had to ha;f track it because the cut-off is 11.0sec ET passes.
The reason is the safety crew and ANDRA insurances.
I did ask WSID what the cost would be to hold an even with quicker ET limit, but i never got a final answer.
My questions are:
1) How many members or friends would come along if the limit was lowered to include big cars that can run into the 9s on the day?
2) If we were to request this, the entry fee WILL be higher.. quite possibly up to $300 each to race. Would EVERYONE be happy to pay this fee and come along? (This question is aimed specifically at those who are well and truly within the 11.0 cut-off and those who may not be able to afford a higher entry fee).
3) Would it be possible, and if so - how, to ask extra fees from those who run the quicker cars, but keep the entry fee to the $200 for those ,11.0 sec. THe problem here is the in-equality, and also how do you account for who will or may run what, on what will be a fixed cost that will be charged per vehicle to cover the extra insurance and safety?
These are issues that have been bothering me becuase i want to include the members withreally fast cars, as well as i would love to SEE those cars going for it!!
If we could discuss these options i would really like your opinions and feelings on it because as much as i would love those cars to be there racing with us, I dont want to prohibit anyone from coming that doesnt feel the extra cost would be right. I would like to see this event "bigger" and better than the last one which was awesome!
For me, I would pay extra but please i'd love your thoughts!

On the other hand the majority of the group would not be going under 11.00 and i really dont see it fair they would have to pay more for the people that do
Im happy to run either way il back off or short shift whatever just to get out there and have fun

I know I don't want to be responsible for jacking everyone elses entry up $100 or more for the sake of a tenth. I'm quite happy to back off or run half track passes as required.

I reckon the best option (for the majority) would be to organise have our own day like last time and we could also do a Wednesday night and get our own lane (which is only $50) and the quick guys can go as fast as they like.
Anyway something to consider.

I completely expected the outcome that the "slower" racers wouldnt want to fork out extra money for the quick guys, that's what's been playing on my mind and why i havent sort of started anything yet.
I fully understand the feelings and understand why! Its expensive enough without MORE entry cost!
I was hoping to have guys like:
SUXGAS
HYP400 and his friend
Struggler and LJ35 of course
and other heavy hitters attend the event and really unleash their cars but i'm thinking the cost is going to be WAY too prohibitive. I will however as the question of WSID and see what comes of it!
I'll definitely ask Jason if he and Michael would like to come out and photograph again, the last time was unreal, so i will offer and ask if you guys are keen!
Cheers for the input guys, that's why i wanted to ask!
and many thanks to the fast guys ( Lee, struggler and everyone), who are willing to attend and enjoy but also race within the rules... I couldnt imagine buttoning off! LOL!
Cheers!

Chev, if your using the same car then its an extra $50, just paying for an extra driver as far as im awareill be happy to run over 11.00 seconds and also would feel guilty jacking the price up 100 bucks
can other people drive our cars if they pay 200 bucks?

technically you can only have 1 extra driver, as they get a race number and time slips awarded to them.
That's what simmo and I do, and unfortunately it's not a case of just letting your mates jump in for a run.
Cheers!

I will definitely have the ute finished by March, but might not be registered.
That and It would be more fun to tow down the purple torana for a run or two!
