Does the car have to be road registered to run?

I Highly doubt it would have to be registered. As Most drag cars are not.

I reckon you should take the Purple Coupe down!!! MUCH MORE FUN!

I was thinking of towing the purple one down with the ute, then running both of them! haha.

Will just have to wait and see.

Should be picking up the cage for the purple one this weekend :)

apart from sorting out the brakes and wheels, its basically ready to go then!

I dont think the car has to be registered to run, as long as it passes scruitineering.

I'll ring WSID and find out some available dates! Watch this space!

(Oh and Sorry mick! you COULD have just copied and pasted the list like everyone else though :tease:) :spoton:

Hi guy's having a private track day is all good but i don't think you guy's should have to pay $300 and you run under 11.00 just so a few can run faster!!!

All the big cars can go to friday night meets for $50

Just my thoughts anyway...would love to bring mine to one of these meets but i will just come and watch..

Hi suxgas,
Thanks for the input mate! It;s you guys i'm trying to think of in my plans here for a few reasons:
1) I think most us would love to watch you guys run, and of course have a good look at the cars and a chat
2) Can be a bit of a test and tune for you guys, the track was quite well prepped last time!
3) would love to see your cars run! hehehe!!

But i agree, i think the extra cost is going to put us out of the ballpark.

Thanks again!

The thought has crossed my mind, but we're getting into un-charted waters!

I've emailed John henman to ask and see what our options are!

See where it takes us :)

id love to see your car launch and run suxgas.

as someone mentioned before, anyone who runs faster than 11,can use the time to prac 60 foot times, and show us slower fellas how its done

could u do this.

when the lights go.move forward an inch, start the clock running, wait what ever time u need to run an 11,then nail it.its a bit cheeky i guess.

Ahhh... if only it was that easy!
The folks at WSID are no dummies, they will not enter any vehicles with the known potential to run better than 11s!
I'd be betting they would pick SUXGAS for a sub 11 sec car :P

Here is the reply to my email IN FULL - from John Henman.

Tiny,

Firstly, my best wishes to you for a safe, healthy and prosperous 2010.

The first available date is Saturday, July 10. Please let me know at your earliest opportunity so that I can lock it in for your club.

Unfortunately we will not permit competition vehicles of Super Sedan status into these events. Private Club Hire events are restricted to cars not capable of running quicker than 11.00-seconds flat and only then, provided they are ANDRA-designated Super Street cars and the drivers hold a current ANDRA Super Street Licence.

ANDRA-licensed Super Sedan competitors may hire the track in their own right. They also have opportunities at our Full Throttle Friday events, Test and Tunes, Bracket Meetings, Regional and Championship-level events and provided they are muffled and dont have the potential to run quicker than 9.00-seconds, theyre okay at our Race for Real off-street meetings as well.

Regards,

John Henman
Operations Manager
SYDNEY DRAGWAY

SO - It looks like we're going to be a bit further away than we hoped!
What do people think of WSID reply?

Cheers
Tiny.

Hi Leigh: - We posted at the same time!

We can always hire a lane at a wicked wednesday meet, We've done that successfully many times before.
The only thing is... You only get the 3 or so passes unless it's a REALLY quiet night!

The private days are great for members with slower vehicles to have some fun and learn about drag racing ( and let your missus beat your ass in your own car.... Yes.. i thought i'll say it before someone else does!)

It could be great to organise a torana contigent to all join in at a test and tune as well!

Jeff: No worries mate! If everyone else is keen ( and it should be far enough away to organise?!) i will get back to John to book it in!

Cheers!

OK maybe too many cars at the test and tunes I guess.

Ive never been to WSID even though I took part in the protest through the streets of Sydney up to NSW Parliment house to help make it all happen.

Leigh: Your welcome to come up mate, but we cant let cars with known potential of sub 11 sec passes enter. We've gotto abide by WSID rules on this one.

This was a small issue on the last day where we had a heap of AWESOME cars out which ran quicker than 11s, They were asked to stop racing due to the time cut-off but they were kindly allowed to do "half passes" to enjoy their day.

I dont want anyone to miss out that wants to come along, but i also wont break the WSID rules, as they will be enforced on the day and i dont want to see any arguments if people enter, only to get kicked out again!

(Not saying for a moment that you would do this, all ^ was a statement to all!)

Cheers guys!

Oh! I forgot to add,

Jason is keen to photograph for us again, and i am also going to price up videography of the day so that everyone can get to see the races you always miss while racing yourself!

What i want to do this time, for ease of everyone - is to find out the costs of the photos and video, split it per entrant, and simply charge everyone.
It was VERY difficult last time to organise who did and didnt want photos, and we had a few people who wanted to grab the photography package on teh day and even after the event! The cost will be relatively small, and most people were over the moon with the photos last time.

Again, I'll get the costs together and put them to everyone.

Cheers!

All good Tiny. Ive never run my current car down the track before, so will have to give it a go to find out what its going to do.
Im thinking low 11's or high 10 but I could be totally wrong and it could also behave totally different on a sticky track too.
Its a way off yet so see what happens in the mean time.

.. and also in the mean time.. maybe I need to build another car trailer..
