Should be fine John!

I'm betting that not EVERY person who has put their name down will be able to come, but even if so John Henman indicated that they should be able to cater for this quantity of cars anyhow!

I have actually had another email from John Henman relating to food and catering on the day. Apparently the catering contractor at WSID are now opening to all private hires.

Here is a copy of the email sent to me:

Tiny,

I need to advise you that our contracted caterers, Gema Catering, now wish to exercise their option to cater yours and other private track hires to the exclusion of others.

This effectively means that I cannot permit Lions or similar to be on site serving competitors, crew and spectators.

Would you please kindly advise your catering contacts that, for the time being at least, they will not be required to attend.

Following your hire, I will be interested to receive your feedback on the quality and duration of service provided.

Regards,
John Henman
Operations Manager
Sydney Dragway

I would think that would be correct.

The way i read it, you could bring your own food, but not supply others.

I could ask John Henman for clarification if you like!

(And i think that pushing the boundaries will serve only to piss off the caterers and i dont know what we need the stress?)

I only ask because the food at the track is expensive and shithouse.

I dont mind paying, its the shithouse part that annoys me.

I have seen BBQ's taken to WSID before. Does it just mean they dont want us paying other companys for food, and would rather we pay their catering company? So if someone bought a BBQ and sausages and cooked them up and gave them out, that would be fine as no money was being handed over (that they know of) cause it would be a 'private' BBQ?

I would agree with you guys,

If we weren't SELLING food, or bringing in other companies food ( Like lions club as John mentioned) then I can see no problem with it.

I think that no one can stop you from bringing your own food to eat, and if you want to share.. then hey.. that's nice of you!!

Hi Tiny,
On most race days I get together with a couple of other racers & we organise who is bringing what (BBQ, steaks, rolls, soft drinks etc) & they are fine with this.
Looks like it is going to be a good turn out.

Just for a bit of fun, gonna chuck up a list and see who is gonna be eyeing who off at the drag day. Little bit of rivalry is always fun.
Woodsy and I already have a plan to line up a few times. Anyone else gonna have a bit of rivalry?

Rivalries:

1. Mitchg vs Woodsy - V6 Torana vs VR V6 Wagon

Looking forward to it Chris. I just don't want to race any of those cheats with 8 cylinders.Posted Image

Was out at the Nostalgia drags at WSID on the weekend and there were a few Holden 6 cyl FED's. At least one with a Duggan headed blue 202 which ran into the mid 9's and revved very hard.

One of the FED's ran a 6.49 pass. Big balls on that driver.

Hey Tiny, I have a couple of spare conrods lying around due to a recent indescretion. I would be happy to donate them for use as trophy ornaments.

Let me know if you are keen.
