should have the lower arm bushes done tomorrow and hopefully ball joints by the end of the week. i have a spare disc and disc guard so they will go on then it all goes back together, both sides are getting the same done.

I'm not sure yet but i may also do the wheel bearings and sway bar bushes.
hopefully its drive-able again by the end of this week or sometime next week

I've lost count of how many of those shocker bolts I've snapped over the years.

Hey Hawk good to hear its progressing. The guard shouldn't be too hard to fix.

If you mean just removing the shocker then you should be able to leave everything else assembled, unbolt the shock and slide it out the bottom. Should be just enough room to scrape the shock through the hole in the lower control arm.

Same thing happened too my first torana, i must have left the nuts loose. I was going 70ks when the wheel fell off, same side too. similar damage lol . I have had a lower bolt snap from my shockie also, i couldnt get it out so i just drilled it and used a longer high tensile bolt and used a nut on top.

its all back together and drivable now but when under stess there is a chrunch or pinging sound in the passengers side what could be causing this?

I dare say that would be happening because you didn't tighten up the control arm bushes when the vehicle was on the ground. If you tightened them when it was up in the air, you are in effect making the bushes twist more than they were previously. Hence the new noise.

This of course is all an assumption.

thanks there is also a forum member who makes a power steering kit for toranas i paid 5k for this one which was a little overpriced. and chopper it was all tightened on the ground i even drove it round the block b4 i tightened it up... could it be the spring not seated right at the top? and i know the bottom is

If the spring isn't seated right, the ront of the car will probably be at an uneven height.

The tail of the spring may be too far into the spring seat pocket in the lower control arm.

Lovells Fitting Instructions

Leave 1/4" to 1/2" space between the end of the coil and the spring seat pocket. This will help prevent spring noise when encountering large bumps.
