Well i gave it a service yesterday and ive almost finished making the brackets for the weber so that should go on over the weekend.

over tge last few days ive had a nasty surprise ive started taking off the side strips on an apparently bog free car to find alot of paint came off with the side strips and feom what i can tell the doors r full of bog and stuffed and the rear quarter had yellow paint or undercoat under the paint and some rust coming through

Oh and i would like to find the guy i got it off and punch his head in the lying pr*#k

well today i bought another sunbird its an Opel 4 and auto best bit is its rust free except a small hole on the rear beaver panel the original rust proofing is still there and its the cleanest i ave even seen a boot floor and rear quarters, few small dents here and there and the passengers side guard needs to be replaced. hopefully the passengers door dent will pop out.
the guy i bought it off got it off the original owner 8 months ago but didnt realize how much needed to be done to convert to an lh/lx so decided to sell. im really happy with the car and the price it gets dropped off tomorrow morning.

well today the new uc was dropped off first thing i did was give it a wash then started stripping the interior as the carpet was stuffed. was really happy to not find a spec of rust in the pans. after that off came the bumpers and front panels. the radiator support and behind the bonnet hinges was also rust free but as usual the battery tray needs work and there is a small hole on the rear beaver panel.

so far it looks like in replacing the passengers side guard and both doors and im still unsure on the drivers side guard anyways heres some pics
oh and if you look closely in one of the pics you can see a burnout mark behind the car lol

ok ive done a bit more the headlining, parcel shelf, most wiring and motor and trans are now out.

few questions to start with-
1. i want to soundproof/ rustrproof the inside of the car so flootpans and boot area with black pain whats the best way to strip the paint and black tar stuff?

2. how far do i need to take the paint inside the car back before paint ? do i need to bare metal it?

3. what soundproofing paint / rustproofing would you suggest and does it need to be spayed out of a gun on a compressor? is there a certain type of spay gun i need to get?
