Wire wheeled the.parcel shelf and inside the.rear pillars to metal which took ages is there any way to do it faster as the frinder keeps over hearing, i was thinking paint stripper but wouldnt it get in the seams and other places where it wont come out ... im on a tight budget so it has to be cheap haha.

Also im using this rust converter that turns the metal.black it says to wipe the black stuff off but its really hard to get off can this black staining be.painted over?

Hopefully put up some pics soon.

Now the red car has filled with water again so the carpet is out for the second time ... i thought id fixed the leak so it was dissapointing .
It also needs a new gearbox and torque converter as its still revving at 5000 at 100kmh which is wrong especially after the diff was swapped to a 3.36 from 3.9 apparently the bands or converter are slipping

Try paint stripper and a scraper first to get the bulk off, then hit it with your wire brush

heres some pics of the last i got done with the wire wheel before the grinder died, also stripped out the doors and have some pics of what im dealing with. theres no pic of the passengers rear door as it has a large dent and some rust so i didnt bother with pics as i was planning on scrapping it but my dad thinks its repairable.Posted Image Posted ImagePosted Image

ok so during the week i laid down some sound deadener and it looks like the tar stuff used under cars so my question is , should this stuff be used inside the car? the paint shop said it could but but dad told me not to put anymore on. he thinks that on a hot day it would just turn to tar like goo. so should i finish the inside of the car in this or find something else?
heres the pics.

well on the weekend i took the red uc out bush when we went camping and had a ball went drifting on dirt tracks and did a few burnouts lol ran really well until i got home, next time i took it out there was a bang from the rear end, not sure what it was but its running fine now. one thing i did notice was one of my hotwires had cracks through half of the spokes which didnt look good so now the car has 2 hotwires and 2 sle rims on it

How old are you Hawk?

Personally, I'd say do what you can on a budget and save to do what you want to your car.

Going into debt with the bank so you can tinker with the UC is not a grand idea IMO.

Buy a cheap daily then.

You will never be able to do anything of any worth with the UC as your daily and project car, you'll only be rushing to get shit done, slapping it back together and generally not finishing things to the standard you want.

There will be people that will argue the point, but I'm of the firm belief you cant have an older car as a daily and a ful blown project car. (not to mention the rate of deteriation that a daily sees)

just my opinion buddy, take from it what you will.

I agree with orange LJ
You don't want to put your self in debt. I've been there done that and learnt the hard way.
If you realy need a car maybe get your self a run around for under a grand. Those little cars are everywhere.
But it's up to you.

Cheers
Nick.
