Just picked the torana up from JPC it made 235rwkw on pump fuel and 10 psi boost, a nice mild tune. Now need a wheel alignment, see the engineer

get a RWC and rego.

Will run everything in first and make sure there are no other problems then back to Melbourne and wind up the boost, hopefully make mid to high 300's

on pump fuel.

He-he, love em or hate em ,you gotta respect the HP you can get from the ole "dirty 30", 320RWHP and thats through a auto gearbox as well !

Ill be suprised if you dont see 500+HP when you start winding up the boost, have you got internals or is it still a stocko bottom end ?

The motors got all the good bits, well at least i hope so. The motor alone cost $9000.

I've just read this built thread and if I was wearing a hat, it would be off in honour of your amazing skills/dedication.

I really love the RB series engines as they are such a well designed engine with plenty of power to be extracted from them.

Great work and thanks for sharing your built. Very inspirational.

Got a permit yesterday so took it for a drive today, it's all good under 3300 RPM after that the boost starts kicking in and it can become very interesting. Wheel alignment and noise next week.

Had the noise test done today, only just passed lucky i'm using a RB30 from a nissan patrol because they are tested at 3600rpm were as VL's are tested at 4200rpm

(tested at 96db because the test goes off the year of the car and the motor rpm goes off the year and make of the motor, another little loop hole to use).

Wheel alignment Thursday, pre check on Friday for RWC, engineer booked for 31/3/2010. Using Andrew Enkelman, quoted $825 for the certificate + $150 for travel.

That covers the motor, gearbox, diff, brakes, chassis work and basicly every thing on the car at the time of the inspection.

Yes indeed. Had the wheel alignment done today, a lot nicer to drive, besides the gear changes feeling like it wants to snap the diff.

Also weighed the car 1360kg total 760kg over the front wheels and 600kg over the back, i didn't think i put that much steel into the car, but i also don't trust the weigh bridge.

Still loving this project... i'm kinda stuck with mine at the moment and seriously considering dropping L98 in as the engine mounts and sump is becoming hell with the RB (taller rb30 block with the larger 26 head)

Had a RWC done on friday to see what needs to be fixed, have to replace windscreen, tail lights to faded and need a PCV value on the motor.

Not to much but i was hoping the windscreen would have passed because i knew once it come out i would probably find rust, which i did.

Time to fill some holes. One trick i use to hold small pieces of sheet metal while i tack them in is to use the magnet strip out of a fridge door seal.

Had the engineers certificate done today and passed with out any problems, he was very happy with the work that i had done.

Should get the paper work in about 2 weeks then rego. It's good to deal with an engineer that knows what he's on about, he also said

that Vic would not be following the NCOP rules like NSW, so no problems modifing chassis.
