Hi I have a center console from LX SS Hatch, the parts are the console body, armrest, shifter cover, radio panel and swith panel. I amtold that the radio has a metal plate that it sits in and is then attached to the console through the radio panel. IS THIS CORRECT ???.

That is correct. You rarely see them though.

Agree with ^^^

They are pretty rare and they take the weight of the radio.

The bracket attaches to the rear section of the console.

There are not illustrated in the parts catalogue. They are simply part of the installation package (group 9.622 I think)

If I get a chance I will take some pics as my console is out of the hatch..

F*** you read my mind, do an approx costing and let me know. Add the cost of a slab and your on. If your up to it do a drawing and sell it to Rare Spares and get some royalties there would be heaps of people looking for them. I can remember going to a wrecking yard when I was about 19 and bought $150 worth of parts and the guy said you can pick one item out of those three 20lt buckets and one of them was full of SS and SLR ashtrays.

I bought a radio off ebay last year to go in the hatch that had one of those already mounted to it.

Didn't know what it was for but when I went to mount it, I thought cool all these holes line up and this will help to keep it sturdy, well that was $20 bucks well spent.

O yeh the radio worked too.

I pulled down a Sunbird (hatch-style) console with a radio and it had the flat plate that the knob threads stick through, but didn't have the more complex bracket hanging out the back. Maybe the radio wasn't completely original, but it looked pretty old and the needles matched the dash
