There are two on carsales.com.au, a white one form Victoria slightly modified but has the bits to return it to original with damage to left rear panel and a Sebring orange one in Queensland, pretty much original.
Does anybody know if they are originals and have the correct running gear, especailly the correct engine?
If any one has know history please PM or email me.
Anyhelp would be appreciated and if you dont want to reply here please contact me at [email protected] or email/PM me your phone number and I will ring you back.
thanks and cheers
Steve

people these days will research the market before they buy and spend there money wisely even if there not in the know.. the first questions generally asked are about the engine prefix and the id tags if any them are missing i know from my experience i use walk away from the car..
but like anything the old cliche if its too cheap there's something wrong with it doesn't always apply the thing is not everyone wants to own a L34.. most L34s were well and truly used in there time but there are still a few good survivors still out there and some good restored ones out there.. i think you'll find most L34s are still traceable in there history as people who bought them knew they were buying the top dog...
as for being careful its goes without saying but most in the know will tell you the L34 has unique parts to it and can be distinguished by most experts... its one thing for someone to make up tags and another thing to bring them into the system as such but its not impossible then again if i personally saw a car that was that new in every department i would be chasing its history down as much as i could cause sooner or later someone out knows something about it especially if you have doubt and if your history check hits a brick wall then use own discretion..
i recently received a phone call picking my brains about how to identify a L34 the call was suspicious but he finely came clean and told me recently bought it,.. my reply was simple you own the car and obviously knew what you buying i asked so whats the problem.. the engine number he gave me didn't stack up and decided wasn't going to educate him as he wasn't up front from the word go....basically if your genuinely in the market to buy and are realistic people like myself will advise and others on the forum...

There is an L34 in Sydney (yellow I think) that was destroyed in a race incident. My old LH shell and rubberless bumpers were used to rebuild it with ALL the original parts. AFAIK it is still being campaigned, but if it were for sale I know the owner would not make a secret of the fact it had to be rebuilt. He'd probably give you all the pics with the car!!
So long as you know, it's not an issue if the rest is ridgy didge. As has been said, L34s copped a flogging in their day, and they were worth so little for so long that many came into the ownership of those who didn't show them the respect they deserved. 7-8 yrs ago, dealer where only offering $12-50k for them!
