The old hoist see saw can be a bit of a surprise.

I remember hanging on to the back of dads xu1 while he found some heavy items to throw in the boot when we dropped the diff (front end was all that was up front, but the position on the hoist made it up and away itself)

Rob, make sure you have some gaps around the baffle for oil to drain back from the axle tube to the diff.

You might be able to make out in the pic that the corners have gaps?

Picture doesn't really show up any distinct gaps.

Bit busy here Steve with other stuff. I go out to the shed every night for a couple of hours but by the time I'm finished I can't be bothered with cameras and downloads and uploads or even upside-down loads?

I'll try and get some pics tomorrow. Steering columnmnmn is sorted and I'm now onto the driver's floorpan patch.

Fair call Rob, I take pictures but only upload them to Facebook, can't be bothered mucking around since photobucket has changed all its limits.

Look forward to seeing pictures when you get time.  ;)

Back widow frame done and have moved onto the driver's floor pan / A pillar area.

A couple of patches on the front window frame after this and the shell is done. :spit:

Is this blue tac or chewy gum? :fool:

Drivers "A" pillar, sill patch and drivers 1/2 floor pan done. Also front windscreen frame. Moving on to weld on panels now.

Also there were a couple of cracks in the floor pan around the handbrake mount

Thank you gents. Too slow though. That guard lower repair panel is just "clipped" on. I shoved it on and it stuck there,

So I sat the bonnet on and aligned it to the scuttle/shuttle/wiper panel thingo. Then fitted the bonnet stops but the tip of the bonnet was higher than the nose cone.

Push, shove tappy tappy knock knock but still couldn't get it spot on.

Remember this car has had an "episode" in the front before I got it...……………..

I reckon with that damage the nose cone was pulled down and twisted?

So the "RoDoMo" nose cone height adjustment tool was made :spoton:

Yeah, the bonnet fitment is all about the guard alignment (the knee bones connected to the thigh bone etc etc)

Once I get it all square, I'll go to Bunnings and get a dome nut for the top at the catch and a piece of tube to sleeve over the allthread.
