Awesome, great feedback, thanks mate!

Back when I was running Hotwires, I had 14 x 8's on the front. I do love the fatty look all round too.

Hi there,

Iv got 15x8 rims for the front of my Torana and 15x10 for the rear. The car will be flared when i put the wheels on and just wondering what size tyres people are running as i have no idea what size to go with. Photos would be great as well.

Cheers

Mark Beath

They look mint mello! Not really that expensive when you consider it's 4 brand new rims in 10's & 8's and two brand new 285/40's!

Yeah Brett, I realise that its not that expensive when you consider the rims and tyres as a package.

But if you were to buy them just to get the tyres....

LOL

So what exactly would be needed to fit 295's on the rear? A9X Flares?

Raised springs - its the height that gets in the way, not the width

go to my garage the red hatch and the hdt replica have 285/40/15s on 15x10inch hotties.they are yokohama avs .the 4 door only has 265s dont know that the285s would fit without much whaling and gnashing
im a bit worried about the thinking behind 285s and 225s whats wrong with 245s on the front its torana not a tractor.just my opinion.

I have seen 285/40/15 on a green Torana at Harry's a couple of times, will search for a picture and post

from what a remember i did not like the look of it from the side it looked small inside the guards, as its a 40 series profile, i think it needed to be lowvered more ,however it did look fat from behind,

I personally prefer the 265's as its fills up the guards nicely and gives an aggressive look

Not sure if i have seen 275/50/15 fitted but they are available i think in BF Goodrich

I will have 265/50/15's on mine in the next few days will post a picture then or see it at the FEST

Yeah the more i see and the more i think about it, im leaning towards 265's as they seem just easier with price, looks and less butchering.

dead right tsn the 265s are on their own as far as looks they do have a more aggressive stance agree 100% even on 8 inch wheels all the proportions are right.hopefully they will be around for a while yet.

Hi Mark,

I've got the same size wheels on my hatch - modified GTS rims, front 15 x 8 and rear 15 x 10.

Running 225 x 50 x 15 on the front and 265 x 50 x 15 on the rear.

Here's a photo,

Mick.

I have pedders off the shelf "A9X springs".

That is how I ordered them, and fitted them from the box.

Just a heads up I recieved a email last week saying they are stoping the production of Yokohama 285/40r15 avs.

I got a set sent over from the UK about 6mnths ago and with importers tax they just scraped in under $2000 (for the pair).
It was this place in the UK that emailed me about these tyres also saying they have 23 left in store, hate to guess what they are worth now...$$$$$

I just bought today and fitted to my 15x8 and 15x10 chalengers a set of mickey thompsons sportsman s/r 26x10 fronts and 26x12 rears in normal text they are 254/60/15 front and 304/50/15 rear acording to my length converter. This size combination looks awesome and the rears fit inside my wheel well very well and clear every where with more than enough clearance. Im running a9x 4 door rear flares and they sit inside them well. Tyres cost $1120 from outlaw speed shop. Now to finish the build.
