Would a heavily cropped copy of my drivers license suffice?

At least holden continued with the v8 untill around 2000.Ended up being a really stout motor.I think Eddie Tassons ended up with 1500 rwhp out of his on pump gas.

Just go HSR Mikunis they work very nicely, very good throttle response.

3x 48mm?

or 6x 40mm if you've got a 12 port?

From a previous post:

But yeah, for a maximum effort engine I'd go for the HSRs over anything else - including injection.

Edit: If we're gonna get into this we should follow Ned's suggestion and start a new thread.

Anyway, getting back to stroker cranks, I met a bloke some time ago who used the SM article on the 186-235. Local shop did the work. I went for a ride just after the zorst had been fitted, I helped the guy adjust the timing so it went better... checking the 0-100 with his watch!

Some time later I saw the remains of that engine, gave the new owner a hand to pull it to bits, although it was in enough bits as it was. No 1 cylinder had almost dissapeared... never seen such a big hole!, cam in 3 pieces, 3 rods bent like a real bent thing, bits of pistons in the sump.

Apparently 'made a noise slowing from 220' with a 3 on the tree and 3.08 diff... then went BANG rattle rattle rattle.

But the crank had not broken.

Seeing as this thread came up again, ive had a re-read.... it would seem that for a high power, high rev application the extra stroke makes the rod ratio worst than it already is with the 3.5 stroke. sooo, ive got a box of parts in the corner of the garage for my blown engine (blue 2.8 block, 5.8 corrilo rods, m-90 blower). if we use the 3 inch stroke crank, and the 5.8 rods, could bore out to 3.625(ish) and have a NA 186(ish) with a lot better r/ratio...... Thoughts?

Hang on..... Would i have just built a really expensive stock 186? whats a 186 rod length?

202 stroke is 3.25", not 3.5".

Stock 186 rod lengh is 5.25" same as all the others.

So no, you havnt planned a real expensive stock 186, you have planned something that shoudl be epic.

Cheers.

Same rods but 3 inch stroke not 3.25. So has a large journal 202 block have a higher deck height than a 186/173?

No, piston compression heights are different.

Sorry Heath,

I have never heard so much BS in my whole life. You have obviously never built a quick, big cube six have you? Have you ever used a balancing machine before?

Calm down, the comments you seem to be referring to were made over four years ago. I'm not even sure if Heath still comes here any more.

I am sorry for that and I should not have posted a reply. You know how it is when you read something and you think, That's BS and you let it slide.

Well I was reading that last night and I just had to say something.

We machine, balance, build, dyno and cnc port heads/ engines all day everyday. I like to think I know what I am talking about. Sometime you have to say something.
