Filed the odometer on the original speedo to match the VDO one. Sanded the top of the VDO to fit and cut the rod for the calibration button off flush with the face.

The Dellow bellhousing turned up last week, had i problem with with the spigot bearing being 5mm to long. Also got the new clutch and pressure plate.
Had a 9" centre left over from my panel van build, a 3.5 LSD with a broken hat and worn clutches, done a quick rebuild using a 4 pinion single spinner.
Finally got the car off the rotator and back on its wheels, finished the last of the body work and got it in primer/filler.

Finished rubbing the body back with 400 dry, the plan is to put some paint on it next weekend. The 31 spline axles turned up last week so decided to put the diff together,
but found a problem with the axles, so need to make a phone call on monday. I gave the brakes a clean up and set them up
You can see the room i have with the shock mounts moved to clear the calipers.

Aside from that what shocks are you going to run with the new mounting points on the diff? Did you weld them on yourself? I will have to deal with the same issue myself. Also im impressed with the speedo. I have never seen that done before and think its a fantastic idea!

Got a few more things done, brake booster and master cylinder, fuel lines, front brakes and fuel tank in.
I cut the filler neck off the tank and fitted a VN filler only because i hate the way the original filler leaks fuel with a full tank when you nail it.
Also you can see where i am running the fuel return line from the surge tank.

Got the motor and gearbox in, it was a bit of a battle getting the gearbox in because the motor is moved forward the back of the motor wouldn't tilt down far enough
because the sump was sitting on the cross member. So had to sit the clutch and pressure plate on the input shaft then lift the gearbox in. Also brake, clutch and accelerator
pedals in, front brake lines. Made a gearbox cross member and gearbox adaptor to use a holden gearbox mount.

Well found another diff builder i will not be using again. Ordered 31 spline axles from Geelong diff services, spoke to him twice to confirm the order,HQ stud pattern and sipgot ( where the centre bore of the wheel mounts) with VN offset to run modified VN discs with HQ pattern.
When they turned up the spigot was 70mm not 71.3mm (HQ), so when i phoned him he said take them to a local machine shop and he would pay to have a sleeve put on the spigot to bring it up to 71.3mm.
After chasing around getting prices to have this done i thought i should ring him and make sure he was going to pay the bill.
He started whinging that the quote was to much and send the axles back and he would do them straight away and send them back the same day.
Sent them back on Thursday 31/3, Wedensday 6/4 i phoned him but he wasn't there, i was told that he would ring first thing the next morning, 10am the next day he still hadn't phoned so i rang him and was told the axles were in the lathe being done as we spoke. Finally the axles turned up today. Not once did he say sorry.
Now next time i want a 9" diff i'll go back to cutting the housings down myself and order parts straight from the USA.
So sick of being stuffed around by so called diff experts.

It would make you want to strangle him, then revive him so you can strangle him again.
Then revive him again and pour acid or bleach via funnel into his mouth until he suffers such severe pain until he passes away.......
I'm sorry about the vivid details, but that's what you want to do, isn't it!
That's why I'm doing everything myself on my own car....... So I don't end up in jail
