Hey everyone!! My name is Coxy.. this is my first post in this forum.. woo hoo!! I brought an LX 1977 torana a few days ago, that i will be making my next project (my last 3 projects have been doing up a LH torana, a 1981 WB ute, and a 1991 suzuki sierra). Around 7 years (when i was 19) i did up the LH.. then i sold it, worst thing i ever did, hence the reason why im doing it again!! Anyway here some pics of the new LX.. i know the colour isnt the best.. but that will change!! The long term plans are to build a 355 stroker for it, respray, restore the interior etc. The beauty about it is.. it is TOTALLY rust free!! At this stage it has a reco red 6cyl, auto, new suspension, brakes, tires etc. I got it for $4000. Here are the pics.. i'll also put a couple up of the last project.. just to let you know that i dont do things half hearted!! Thanks everyone, look forward to chatting with you all more soon :)

What colour is that and is it a factory Torana colour? I like it, it appeals to my estrogen.......

Thanks everyone!!!! The colour is enough to make any vomit in litres.. whats worse, it has got the SLR5000 logo on the rear spoiler.. and it has got a red 6cyl, complete with a stock standard exhaust!! Each to their own i guess!! Anyways, the first thing i want to do is sand that colour back.. at least that way when i do start working on it, i wont be continusaly vomitting everywhere!! hehehe..

Car wasnt in a mag.
It was the result of a drunken binge on JB black. We had 1 night to select a color to go with the white....that's the best we could do. lol

sorry for the tread steal........back to regular programming....

haha, 2 pink toranas!!! argh!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I thought one was bad enough!! jokes jokes ;) Anyways I got the car delivered last night.. went for a drive up the road, it drives sooooo nice. It has almost new suspension, brakes, engine, tires etc. The plan is to start stripping it out, while saving to get the paint job done. Not sure what colour scheme to go yet.. thinking blue/black? Whilst it is getting painted, I will then start replacing the few things in the interior that need attention (roof lining, seats, dash etc). Then, the plan is to use a pair of L34 spec heads and 750DP pro comp carby (that are currently on my WB ute), and bolt them onto a 355 stroker bottom end. All of this will keep me busy for ages anyway, due to uni fee's i cant go spending all of my $$ on it worst luck :( After it is at that stage, i will then be upgrading the transmission, and diff (before driving it with the 355 stroker!!). Its just so hard to work on it without throwing up everywhere because of that retchud colour!!!

Time for an update!! I have brought a drop tank for her.. should be here next week. I spoke to the previous owner, and he confirmed that the engine, suspension, and paint work is all within 2 years old. Doesnt matter about the engine though, because i have started sourcing a new gearbox and other parts for a V8 to be dropped in :) And the best news.. shes getting PAINTED in june!!!!!!!!!! Woo hoo!!!! Now, i have to decide what colour :S

That tank is a tidy lookin bit of gear. Where did you get it from? How long do you think the painter will have the car?
