I need a new starter motor for my LX 308 red motor with trimatic. Research suggests that a Bosch BXH136 is what I need but at the same time it seams that this motor will foul up on the standard exhaust manifold and system. There must be others out there that do not have extractors and have upgraded their starter motor with a newer type.

Can you help and I welcome any comments and recommendations (no I am not putting in extractors).

Yea the mini Bosch AFAIK also refered to as a gear reduction starter motor (or at least thats what mine is) its considerably smaller than a std one. Id doubt that it would foul its probably the smallest you can get.

haha '(no I am not putting in extractors)' ....good on ya lol, i have them, but they were the biggest pain in the ass to fit, i cant even get one side in or out without jacking up the engine :P

Jaylec do a gear reduction starter for red-black v8s. The solenoid is in the standard position and doesn't foul extractors.

I've had one on my 5.0lt VK for a while with no issues...
