Once again the scum of the earth has struck and stolen someone's pride and joy.

At about 7.15 A.M on the 07/02/2010 the above LX hatch (Sunbird) registration number ACY863 was stolen from a private drivway in Ringwood East Victoria.

I'm not the owner, but she is known to me an is 92 years old and obviously cannot post herself.

The vehicle is quite distinct by its condition and stock appearence.

Any information regarding this vehicle should be directed to the Detectives at the Organised Motor Vehilce Theft Squad (Victoria Police) on 9611 8602, 000 or via P.M to me.

Oh far out, that is terrible to hear. It's sad to think that scum like this walk among us and think their actions are perfectly ok.

Can you grab the old dears rego papers and post up all the numbers

I'm sure ive seen this car before, not recently tho. Marvelled at how stock it was. This is terrible Ill keep an eye out when im in Ringwood

To answer the above questions the car is Opaline blue with a light blue interiour, Opel 4 cyclinder withh a 4 speed. Full chrome hub caps and a gauge at the bottom of the LH door into the start of the LH quarter.

Car has green and white garden state plates and the standard sunbird grill.

I will attach a picture tomorrow.

It is believed that the car is still in the Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne.

The Car is a feature story on the front page of our local paper, it says the lady owned it 33 years, Kept it because it reminded her of her husband

Man that's soo sad, not only the fact that some LOW LIFE has stollen her ride. but then she falls over & injures herself whilst taking public transport... Hopefully the cops will find thu perp's, shoot first & ask questions later..

Story about the missing sunbird was just shown on regional TV; it would be good if someone could post the cars numbers on this site; we might all like to keep an eye out for it!

I totally agree... this is so UnAustralian! Steal a 93 year old ladies one owner Sunbird hatchback! As a national priority, every avaliable resource should be thrown at this!

The fact that it's all over thu news & front page of papers tells me they're already treating this with highest priority.. There's not a whole lotta cars that get this sort of attention & the scum bag who stole it should be shitting himself... I'de love to have him in my crosshairs..

Sentimental value now how can you put a price on that.. probably all she has left to remember her hubby by... insurance say $1400 which wouldn't even buy the front end these days...

Aside from keeping an eye out for the car and parts would other people on the forum be willing to "pass the hat around" and get the old duck back into a Torana?

If the car is gone and not recovered, the least we could do is help her out in some other way. We may not have the resources to get another hatch but if she is used to driving a budgie I'm sure a fairly cheap sedan or UC hatch could be an option?

I'm just throwing it out there and if there is enough support to get something happening surely we could head it up.

I dont mind putting my hand up to assist in anyway possible.

What do others think?
