And numbers will help locate this car
In addition to all GMH-Torana.com.au rules, the following rules will apply to the STOLEN forum.
1)If you spot a suspected stolen vehicle or items, Please DO NOT approach them. Call the POLICE Immediately and give them as many details as you can. This will be the only legal way of helping the owner get his posessions back.
2) If you see any suspicious activity, Please call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or your local police station
3)Please keep all threads on topic. List the information about the vehicle and only reply if you have pertinent information relating to that particular incident.
4) DO NOT post replies about how you would like to get your hands on the thieves.... It serves no purpose other than to clog up the thread with useless information
5) When starting a thread, Please give as much information as possible
6) When starting a thread, please ensure that the owner of the equipment has contacted the police and listed the item as stolen.
7) GMH-Torana.com.au administrators reserve the right to edit, close or remove any thread as they see fit at any time to ensure security and validity of information contained here.

Aside from keeping an eye out for the car and parts would other people on the forum be willing to "pass the hat around" and get the old duck back into a Torana?
If the car is gone and not recovered, the least we could do is help her out in some other way. We may not have the resources to get another hatch but if she is used to driving a budgie I'm sure a fairly cheap sedan or UC hatch could be an option?
I'm just throwing it out there and if there is enough support to get something happening surely we could head it up.
I dont mind putting my hand up to assist in anyway possible.
What do others think?
Cheers,
Tony
Edit - Paul (LX2DR) what is the link to the Police page you referred to for the facebook link?
At the bottom of the article.

Victoria Police link
Thank you to those who supported the idea of doing something constructive for Mary, I was hoping it wouldnt have to be actioned but I am glad the idea was well received.
I reckon the Victoria Police and general public deserve a big pat on the back for finding the car. Well done !!

With all the media exposure, this had to turn up I reckon.
Now watch red tape get in the way of it not having it's original rego number re-instated.

It's far from red tape dude.. it's all about 2 sets of number plates issued with same details.. I would think the number plates are least of worries now that her torrie is back in thu driveway...

it was fully restored for free, and given back to the owner, a few good businesses had chipped in for the restoration,
who knows it just might happen to this elderly 92 y.o now that its been shown on tv, personally i hope it does,

I don't know about N.S.W. but in Vic. they will re-issue old number plates. But there is a time frame of how long since the number was last on a car. This is the "red tape" I'm reffering to.
I'd understand what you are saying if it were the tags, but not number plates. 1 car would be legally registered with that number plate, the other wouldn't........simple.
Having said that, are we talking the tags were missing or the number plates?
There could be something lost in the terminology from the police site?
