Small update, finished stripping the drivers rear quarter today, no old bog to be found, no rust and only a couple of small dents.
Go you good thing. How great is that you lucky bugger!
I am jealous as I wish I could say the same about mine.
So any closer to firming up a date for colour going on?
Cheers, TB

Test fitted the drivers door.
Fitted the front spoiler, doesn't fit too bad.
Started smoothing out the drivers rear quarter, weather forecast looks good for some more work tomorrow.

Cheers Paul.

And yep, I'm with Paul; go the painted bumpers - going to fit over-riders?
That front spoiler looks good - I have found mine might be a bit low but can't remedy it because its height is set by where it needs to link to my front flares.
When is it coming off the rotisserie at the rear?
Finally, it looks great - please keep the updates coming.
Cheers, TB

No overriders as the bar are rubberless ones.
The rotisserie will be going on again soon as i need to flip the car upside down to spray the underneath and the wheel arches with body deadener.

Ive just started building a hatch to go with my sedan.
Havent done much but yours and a couple of the other hatch threads in here give me the motivation to get into it.
Well done mate, keep it up.

Stripped and primed the radiator support panel.
Also spent a bit of time on the engine bay again as i wasn't completely happy with it after my first go at smoothing it out.
Also drilled holes in the firewall for the wiring to pass through.Did one more hole than i thought i would need, just in case. 50mm gromets will fit in these.
It doen't look a whole lot different in the pictures but it is heaps smoother and will look better in paint than it was.

Eveything was fine which i was really pleased about (sick of panel beating!!)
I've got the go-ahead to start prepping for paint (yay!!)
Painted the top of the dash today and while i was at it i also squirted some black on the rest of the inside and inside the plenum, i know you will never see most of it but i just wanted to tidy it up a bit.
Off to the coast for a few days, next weekend i will try and do under the floor and the wheel arches with underbody sealer then i can finally take the car off the rotissary.
Then it's hi-build primer and endless wet rubbing.

Really looking forward to seeing some paint on but understand it is a while away yet - that wet rubbing is a bugger - perfect time to rob a bank given you'll have no discernable fingerprints - my mate Dave who the steered my body resto suggested to me an apparently long-held painter's point of view that one's bride/girlfriend appreciates the wet rub period - I'd best leave it at that...
Please keep the updates coming - cheers, TB

Even though he hasn't done paint and panel work professionally for about 15 years he will be worried that peoplewho know us will think the work was his.
At least the finished product will be excellent, if left to my own devices the car would look ok but wouldn't be to the quality that it should be.

TerrA LX made his comment over a month ago and Derrin clearly didn't feel the need to respond - rose above it and all.
Derrin,
Not wanting to do the old 'my dog's blacker than your dog' tale, but I get exactly where you are coming from regarding your Dad's standards and his concern for what folks will say. Dave who did my car was exactly the same and was concerned what folks would say/think of his work. I kept trying to remind him we were making a nice car and not a show car but gave up after a while. And so yep, I feel your pain but as you have so readily identified, the car is better for it - something you both can be proud about.
Is it off the rotisserie yet?
Cheers, TB

Of course we all use it, even holden did at the factory but my comment was less of an attack and more of a tip, the area's full of bog on the R/H quarter are easily accessable and there does not appear to be a need for so much filler. No offence intended.
Now back to the pissing comp, start your own thread if you feel the need.

Trying hard not to comment about the use of bog,
I would like to know how you gauge the thickness of bog from a photo? (that's the last comment i will make on that subject)
No the car is still on the rotisserie, i hope to apply the body deadener this weekend and then the shell can be taken out (finally!!)
Cheers.

Also did the inside of the front guards while i was at it.
Today i might go and remove the car from the rotisserie and put it up on jack stands.
