Listing says "no leaks" but looks obvious that the rear of the right manifold had been leaking and may need machining.

Is it a big issue if they have to be machined?.And is it expensive?.

They will still suit your car ok. The RHS manifold to exhause studs are short on PRE ADR27A and there is a heating pipe that runs though, you can see the hole in one pic

These have the hot air riser bracket, what else do they need to be 27a, l thought that was it?

Kangur, not sure what headers you are looking for but if you need a pair of pre pollution headers l will have a set once l get the correct ones for my car.

Hi Mondie, yes I'm after the pre pollution ones so these on ebay are obviously no good for me and even if they were i would not bid against a forum member. If you do end up getting these than I would be interested in your pre pollution ones.Let us know how you went and how much you would want for your manifolds.
Cheers

The ones on EBAY are PRE ADR27A, they will still fit on a POST ADR27A Car. The left one is the same, the right one for a PRE ADR27A car has
1. Short studs for mounting of the exhaust
2. A hole running from front to rear for the auto choke

These ones on EBAY will fit on any Torana V8, but if you want to be 100% original, the right one is incorrect for a post ADR27A car.

Thanks RED,there was a bit o mis understanding,so these will be right for my pre pollution SS.Mondie if they are no good to you than I will place a bet on these. If you let me know if I'm still bidding against you that would be great so we don't jack up the price for each other.

Was that you who just won them Kangur? l tried retracting my bid 20 mins before close after reading Reds post but it wouldn't let me - that was after l found where to which is not made easy :furious: At least l got outbid, must say l am suprised at how much they went for though.

Thanks for the info REDA9X, now l remember the choke pipe you are talking about. Keep searching l guess.

Cheers

I don't think you guys quite got what I was trying to say, they will still fit either model you have, pollution or non pollution. You could have bougth them and used them no dramas at all, that pipe does not leak, and the longer studs make bugger all difference. Oh well, they went for a decent amount

must say l am suprised at how much they went for though.

Back in the mid 80's my exhaust manifold cracked and I went to the wreckers, they all wanted at least $125 for just one side, one was more expensive than that of the other for some reason. Even back then they were hard to find.

Mine happened to be the expensive side so I ended up replacing them with extractors - much cheaper and performance enhancing at the same time.

I also remember seeing some with a butterfly type choke.

Extractors are a option but if you're restoring it to factory original it just has to have the right exhaust manifolds. There is plenty of extractors and cheap too(I have 2 sets now) but hardly any manifolds.About 15 years ago I chucked out 2 sets as they were not worth anything as at that time everyone wanted extractors, now these days is the opposite and everyone wants manifolds.
