Over the years on this forum there have been quite a few monumental "blow ups"

Here is a couple of mine to get the ball rolling......................but I've seen better ones here.

I've done better too in the past but no pics.

Both of these were caused be ignorance/lack of knowledge/haste on my part.
The head gasket did 5 laps as did the rockers.

If you haven't had a blow up............YOU'RE NOT TRYING HARD ENOUGH!

I don't have anything overly exciting, but here's a couple

308 rings and bearings after years of abuse ending in a burnout that spun a big end bearing halfway round:
Posted Image
(not one of the top rings was intact, most were in pieces about half an inch long)

I'm sure every Torana owner recognises this:

^ They are not on Ebay, unless somebody stole my pic? Think I paid $1,000 for em brand new, so I'd give Ebay a miss. 245's were $245 each (easy to remember) and the 265's $295 each.

EDIT: $1,080 to be exact, before the fun police move in.

not an engine blow up but fun anyway.

This is the exhaust outlet off the Targa Hatch. Lasted less than a day before iot split and got progressivly worse.

Not it has not impacted anything, the exhaust gasses have bent the split parts against the wind flow.

Norm Butler said he had never seen anything like it.

I can see why you had to take the head off to find the problem. :)

and yes fast eh we did actually have an elect fault little did we know untill we were pushing it onto trailer that the starter had been pushed onto hedder pipes and pipes pushed into chassis rail and the main positive starter wire was shorting battry out the boot had a very distinctive hot acid smell when opened and battery was red hot. so now we have fitted a battry isolator to it.
